Dao Tan (Dao Dang Tien, Dao Tien), self-titled Chi Thuc, nicknamed Mong Mai, Mai Tang, was born in the year of the Snake (1845). He was from Vinh Thanh village, Tuy Phuoc ward, now in Vinh Thanh village, Phuoc Loc commune, Tuy Phuoc district, Binh Dinh province.

He passed his bachelor's degree in the year of the Goat (in 1867), 4 years later, King Tu Duc invited him to enter the Hue Imperial Court, specializing in composing Tuong plays under the king's orders. In the year of the Dragon (in 1904), he retired after holding the position of Thuong Thu of the Ministry of Public Security. He is a famous patriot with integrity, as well as an excellent poet, composer and director of Vietnamese drama in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With great contributions, Dao Tan is revered as the "Postmaster" of Vietnamese Tuong art.

Dao Tan's tomb was built after his death in his hometown on July 15th, 1907 (19th Thanh Thai year) according to the Quoc Trieu rite. His grave is located on Mount Huynh Mai (Hoang Mai) in Huynh Mai village, Phuoc Nghia commune, Tuy Phuoc district, 15 km from Quy Nhon city. The tomb looks south, towards the village where he used to live.

Dao Tan's tomb is 3 meters long, 2 meters wide, in front of the tomb there is a stele stating the time of the tomb and a screen to cover it. Around the tomb is a rounded rectangular campus, in front there is a gate pillar, the back has a screen bearing the shape of a letter. In front and behind the tomb, there are 4 lions standing in front of them, their tails up and their faces facing the front. This relic was ranked by the Ministry of Culture and Information on January 24, 1998.

In 1994, Binh Dinh Department of Culture and Information coordinated with People's Committee of Tuy Phuoc district and Phuoc Nghia commune to strengthen and restore Dao Tan's tomb based on the original. Today, the monument of Dao Tan tomb is a place to visit for tourists near and far to admire the artist's grave who has made many contributions to the arts, a place to offer incense in memory of the country's talented celebrities due to the Culture - Information industry. Provincial news and Tuy Phuoc District People's Committee held on July 15 of the lunar calendar every year.
