Binh Dinh is rich in cultural and historical traditions. It used to be the ancient capital of the ancient Champa Kingdom; hometown of the outstanding hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue. This place has long been known as the "land of martial arts, heaven of literature" with many unique art forms, such as Boi classical drama, Bai Choi folk art, traditional martial arts, Tay Son martial music... Simultaneously, it is also the birthplace. nurtured and become a stop for cultural celebrities, many famous poets and artists, who have entered the history of poetry and music of the country, such as: Dao Tan, Xuan Dieu, Han Mac Tu , Che Lan Vien, Yen Lan, Trinh Cong Son... The people of Binh Dinh are brave and resilient in their struggle to defend the Fatherland and are diligent, intelligent and creative in their homeland construction.

Binh Dinh is also known as the place with charming scenery with beautiful spots along the 134 km coastal line throughout the province such as Quy Nhon beach, Ghenh Rang Tien sa, Eo Gio, Ky Co, Hon Seo, Hon Kho, Trung Luong, Thi Nai lagoon, Cu Lao Xanh, Ham Ho, Mui Vi Rong, etc. In recent years, Binh Dinh has been considered as “upcoming star” on the central region tourist map, in which Quy Nhon is honored to be in the top 20 tourist attractions in the world and one of the three 2020 ASEAN clean tourist cities. Binh Dinh is the first province in Vietnam, invested in Quy Hoa Science and Education Urban Area and the nucleus is the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). Up to now, the Center has attracted 15 Nobel-laureates and many well-known leading professors and scientists, both domestic and overseas, coming to share ideas, exchange experience and present the latest scientific researches. Besides, the province has implemented and completed the 1,000-hectare Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh with the aim of attracting both national and international investors. 

Binh Dinh is one of the five provinces in the Central Key Economic Region, strategically located in the South Central region and the Central Highlands with synchronized transport systems including by road, water, rail and air. Along  the north-south axis, the road and rail systems connect Binh Dinh with localities of south and the north of the country. Along the east-west axis, the highway 19 is the nearest sea gateway of the Central Highlands, southern provinces of Laos, north-east Cambodia and the Mekong sub-region countries. Especially, Quy Nhon international port and Phu Cat airport have rapidly developed and increased international trade exchange, not only meeting the requirements of local transport but also playing an important role in promoting goods traffic flow of neighboring provinces. 

Thanks to the effective promotion of potential and strengths, in the 2015-2020 period, the provincial socio-economic situation created positive changes and achieved such important results: The economy is fairly developed and the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased an average annual rate of 6.4%. The economic structure gradually focuses on industries and services. The tourism has become an important economic sector of the province. The budget input has exceeded the set plan. The socio-economic infrastructure has been invested, which better meets the development requirements of the province; provincial urban and rural areas have been prospered. The education, healthcare, culture, society and poverty reduction have positively changed. The poverty rate of the province decreased to 3.43%. The physical and spiritual life has improved dramatically. The national security is always maintained.

In the coming time, with the aim of becoming a leading developed province of the central region, Binh Dinh focuses on economic development based on 5 pillars, including: Develop industry, tourism and services and logistics (seaports and airports); Develop agriculture, forestry and fishery based on high technology and the transfer from quantity to quality; Develop urban economy and the process of urbanization. The province also identifies 3 breakthroughs for the growth: Create a strong change in calling for investment, improve local competitiveness to attract domestic and overseas investors to the province; train and improve the quality of human resources based on the provincial development orientation, especially those in information technology, technology engineering, tourism and high-tech industry; implement policies to attract high-quality labor to meet the needs of the economy. Binh Dinh continues to construct and complete a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system, especially transport infrastructure for the northern region of the province to develop the economy of this region.

In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals, together with the policies of promoting internal resources and developing a multi-sector economy, the province has issued a lot of investment encouraging policies, attracted and utilized talents, improved the investment environment, enhanced international economic integration, applied information technology and strengthened administrative reform, especially administrative procedure reform. The province also established Binh Dinh Public Administration Service Center, with the aim of receiving and solving the province-leveled administrative procedures and documents, and this center also assists the Provincial People’s Committee in supervising the handling of administrative procedures and documents that departments, agencies and localities of the province are responsible for. This meets the requirements of publicity and transparency and creates the most favorable conditions for people and enterprises.
