Horse conical hat is one of the specialties of Binh Dinh hometown. Currently, in Cat Tuong, Phu Cat district, there are about 120 households that have the profession of making horse hats. Besides Phu Gia, neighboring villages such as Kieu Dong and Xuan Quang also work, but mainly in Phu Gia, with about 70-80 households, accounting for 10% of the total number of households in the village. According to the elderly in the village, although the profession of making horse hats here is still maintained, it seems that beautiful and sharp hats like a few decades ago are increasingly rare. A horse hat usually has to go through four stages:

- Create a rib: The roots of the sycamore tree are taken from the mountains, dried, and split into small fibers as thin as twine. The knitting method is in the style of basket knitting, the hexagonal holes form a large patch.

- Rib cyst ligation: Put the anesthetic piece on the template cone, sew the bottom cyst to create a cone rib. Next is to sew the vertical and horizontal ribs with yarns the size of toothpicks. These two stages of making cones must be performed by professional workers so that ordinary hat makers can continue to perform the following stages.

- Embroidery patterns on the ribs: Usually embroidered with patterns according to the themes of dragon, unicorn, turtle, phoenix; two dragons contest pearl; apricot orchids and bamboo shoots; verse; couplets or scenes on the rib capsule.

- The final stage is the roofing. Fresh palm leaves must be picked from the mountains of Vinh Thanh, Gia Lai will be processed meticulously, stripped alive, dried in the shade, placed on fire pots and bamboo cages to ripen the leaves, then brought out. The sun is exposed to dew and is heated by fire to keep the leaves straight and flat. Workers use specialized scissors with thin plates and long blades to cut leaves into small pieces according to the height of the cone. Stack the edges of the leaves (spread) evenly around the side of the cone from the top down. Stitch (stitch) the leaves to the side of the cone, just lying under the leaf lid, so you can't see the line from the outside. Finished, the craftsman cut off the excess threads sticking to the surface of the hat and did not forget to decorate a bunch of five-color thread at the top of the hat.
