Called Go Gang hat, because hats are sold wholesale at Go Gang hat market (Nhon Thanh ward, An Nhon town), in fact, traditional hat making is spread throughout Binh Duc, Tan Duc, Tan Nghi, Vinh Phu, Chau Thanh, Phu Thanh, Kieu An villages... (Nhon Thanh ward, An Nhon town).
The Go Gang hat is now a harmonious combination between the Hue poem hat and the old horse hat. It saves materials, reduces excessive fussiness, and is suitable for working people. The hat is made of bamboo rims, sharpened like toothpicks, woven into 3 layers of ribs. The outside is covered with young palm leaves with white and regular fragrant arrows.
Each cone must be built with 18-19 leaves at the appropriate age. If the leaves are too old, it will lead to yellow color like rain cones, thick and thin leaves; Young leaves have many green veins, making the rough surface of the cone lose its smooth and pleasant appearance. The main focal point of the hat industry is Go Gang hat market, which meets regularly from 3, 4 am. After finishing a batch of 25-30 pieces, people in the surrounding areas bring hats to sell and buy materials for the next batch. Originating here, Go Gang can supply more than 50,000 hats to the whole country every month. The lowest month is also nearly 20,000 units. In the past few years, Go Gang hats have also been exported to neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia, China... in the form of modified forms to suit the country. From the mountainous highlands with strong winds to the gardens of the South, Go Gang conical hats have become a familiar item for all workers.
In 2007, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee recognized Go Gang Conical Village as meeting the criteria of traditional craft villages.
