The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore in Viet Nam had a meeting with leaders of BinhDinh Province.

On the afternoon of August 24, 2015, H.E.Mr. Ng TeckHean, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore in Viet Nam, had a meeting with leaders of BinhDinh Province. Welcoming and receiving the ambassador at the Office of BinhDinh People’s Committee were Chairman of BinhDinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung, Vice Chairman of People’s Committee Ngo Dong Hai and leaders of relevant departments and agencies. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ministry Le HoaiTrung.

At the meeting, Chairman of BinhDinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung expressed his warm welcome to the delegation led by H.E.Mr. Ng TeckHean, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore in Viet Nam, and his staff to the province. Chairman Ho Quoc Dung gave a brief on socio-economic development of the province and added some information on potential and advantages for cooperation and investment as well as policies to attract investment.

Representative of BinhDinh Construction Department also briefed on the geographical location, the infrastructure of the Industry-Trade-Service-Urban Complex in BinhDinh Province (BinhDinh VSIP project), which will be expected to implement in Van Canh District (in a area of about 3,000 hectares).

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ministry Le HoaiTrung noticed that BinhDinh VSIP project receives a great support from the Government. BinhDinh needs to have a new orientation for development as the province is located in the key economic region in central and Highland of Viet Nam. In addition, Viet Nam takes a great interest in developing such provinces/cities in the East of the country. The Deputy Minister requested BinhDinh, Sembcorp Industries and relevant agencies to soon implement this project.

H.E.Mr. Ng TeckHean, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Singapore in Viet Nam, expressed his thanks to leaders of BinhDinh Province for its warm welcome. The Ambassador said that Singaporean enterprises have invested 33 billion USD in Viet Nam. However, the Singaporean investment inBinhDinh Province is still limited. The Ambassador hoped that after this visit, a large number of Singaporean enterprises would invest in BinhDinh and promote the tourism between BinhDinh and Singapore. Regarding BinhDinh VSIP project, the Ambassador noticed that the transport, the infrastructure, the investment funding, the commitment and assistance of local authority are vital to boost the project implementation. The Ambassador committed to supporting BinhDinh Province with human resources training.

On behalf of leaders of BinhDinh Province, Chairman of BinhDinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung expressed his thanks for invaluable support; at the same time, (he) was also determined and actively assisted to implement this project. Chairman Ho Quoc Dung pledged that BinhDinh would facilitate the investor in order to soon implement this project.
