Investment promotion seminar in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam – the Netherlands
(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of November 4, an investment promotion seminar in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam - the Netherlands entitled "Potential for economic development in coastal Quy Nhon" was organized face-to-face and online forms.
In Binh Dinh Province (at Binh Dinh Convention Center), the seminar was chaired by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Daniël Stork - Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Pham Ngoc Thuan - General Director of Becamex IDC Corporation, Mr. Guido Van Rooy - Executive Director of the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam, and representatives of leaders of departments and agencies of the province also attended the seminar.
Mr. Pham Viet Anh - Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands chaired the seminar at the Vietnam Embassy in the Netherlands. In Leeuwarden City (the Netherlands), Mr. Pham Van Hai - Representative of Becamex IDC Corporation in the Netherlands chaired the seminar.
The seminar was also attended by representatives of 100 Dutch enterprises.

At the workshop, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that the socio-economic infrastructure of Binh Dinh province, especially the transport infrastructure, trade - service, the infrastructure of economic zone and industrial parks had been focused on investing in a modern direction and it is identified as one of the three breakthroughs for the province's socio-economic development in the coming time. The transportation system is basically completed, synchronous and convenient to connect between regions, with a full range of modes of transport (such as by road, rail, air and water). Besides, Quy Nhon city has been identified by the Government as a Type II logistics center; with on-site warehouse system and satellite areas being planned and built according to the requirements of industrial trade, service and tourism development as well as logistics activities.
In recent years, many big investors have researched, trusted and chosen Binh Dinh province to invest and develop their business activities. Particularly, Becamex IDC Corporation - a leading brand in the field of investment and development of urban infrastructure and industrial zones in Vietnam, is the investor of construction and infrastructure business of Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park, located in Canh Vinh commune, Van Canh district, Binh Dinh province, with an area of 1,000 hectares.
In order to enhance investment attraction in Binh Dinh in general and Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park in particular, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province as well as departments, agencies and localities in the province have increased promotion attraction of both domestic and overseas investors to survey and invest in the province; at the same time, actively built and developed friendship relations with state agencies as well as investment and trade cooperation with Dutch enterprises. However, the results of attracting investment from Dutch enterprises in Binh Dinh province are still quite modest. Up to now, the province has only one project of animal feed processing factory invested by the branch of DE HEUS Co., Ltd (Netherlands) in Nhon Hoa Industrial Park, with an area of about 4 hectares, the total investment registered capital of USD 20.1 million. The project was put into operation in 2018.

Mr. Daniël Stork - Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City highly valued the potential of Vietnam in general and Binh Dinh province in particular in the fields of seaports, offshore wind power, etc. The Netherlands has strengths and needs to seek for investment. Therefore, the seminar would help promote brand promotion, attract foreign investment to Binh Dinh province; at the same time, connect and build relations between Binh Dinh provincial government and Dutch investors in the coming time.
Mr. Pham Viet Anh - Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands said that the seminar would open many cooperation projects for Binh Dinh province. When cooperating with the Netherlands, Binh Dinh not only receives projects but also consults about views, develops problem-solving skills, and learns how to approach issues. The Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands hoped that the cooperation between Binh Dinh province and localities of the Netherlands would develop more effectively, promote and create the value for the potential and strengths of the province; at the same time, pledged to accompany Binh Dinh province and businesses of the two sides to promote cooperation in the coming time.

Answering the questions raised by Dutch businesses, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that Binh Dinh is currently promoting the attraction of FDI projects. In the province, there are 86 FDI projects with a total registered capital of USD 1.1 billion. Binh Dinh is offering many preferential policies to investors and depending on each type of business, there are different preferential policies. Coming to Binh Dinh, businesses and investors would be given all favorable conditions for successful project implementation and sustainable development.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan also said that the fields Binh Dinh would like to attract investment are environmentally friendly industry and high-tech industry. Besides, Binh Dinh would also like to attract waste treatment projects, especially plastic waste and wastewater treatment projects. In terms of renewable energy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that Binh Dinh has many conditions to develop renewable energy, including wind power and solar power. However, Binh Dinh mainly encourages the development of wind power projects in the province.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized: With the view of constantly improving the quality of the business investment environment to become an "ideal destination" for domestic and foreign investors, Binh Dinh province has been focusing on developing and perfecting the transport infrastructure system in the province, as well as the infrastructure of economic zone and industrial parks, including Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park. Besides, the reform of administrative procedures on investment, construction, tax, customs and improving the relations between investors, businesses and local authorities at all levels is given top priority with the aim of building a professional, modern, effective, efficient administration, capable of creating development, integrity, serving the people and businesses.
