At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long emphasized that Vietnam and Thailand are strategic partners with over 40 years of diplomatic ties. In particular, Vietnam is Thailand's 5th largest trading partner and Thailand is Vietnam's 6th largest trading partner. In the future, Vietnam and Thailand have many opportunities to continue promoting this good relationship.

On this occasion, the Vice Chairman gave a brief on the potential and strengths of Binh Dinh province. Binh Dinh is a province in the south central region of Vietnam, the closest and most convenient gateway to the sea of the Central Highlands, Southern Laos, northeastern Cambodia and Thailand. With many beautiful landscapes and beaches, the province is focusing on attracting investment and developing tourism into a key economic sector. Besides, Binh Dinh is enhancing industrialization and modernization and is present in the group of provinces and cities of Vietnam with high economic growth rate. It is gradually developing into the nucleus of growth - an urban, industry and service center of the central key economic region.

In the past years, Binh Dinh exchanged investment promotion information with Thai localities, calling for Thai businesses to invest in the province. However, Binh Dinh has only 6 projects of Thai enterprises, with a total investment of over USD 55 million.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Phi Long wished that in the coming time, the Ambassador would care, support and act as a bridge to connect Thai businesses and corporations to survey and invest in the province in such fields as tourism, industry, agriculture and so on; at the same time, assist the province in the process of implementing investment promotion activities in Thailand.

The Royal Thai Ambassador Tanee Sangrat expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of Binh Dinh province. He said he was particularly impressed with the culture and people of Binh Dinh province and believed Binh Dinh would develop more and more in the future. He also acknowledged the province's proposals; at the same time, pledged to support Binh Dinh to call on Thai investors to invest in the sectors which the province has strengths.
