Provincial leader met with a delegation of Mitsubishi Corporation in Viet Nam

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of July 11, 2019, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) Ho Quoc Dung had a meeting with the delegation of Mitsubishi Corporation in Viet Nam, led by Mr. Tetsu Funayama – Chairman and General Director. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Phi Long – Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh PPC and leaders of provincial related departments, agencies.

Mr. Tetsu Funayama said Mitsubishi Corporation wanted to expand its investment and business in Vietnam market and paid special attention to Binh Dinh Province. During the visit, the group hoped to seek for investment and business opportunities in the province in the fields of agriculture, industry, energy and fisheries. Chairman of Mitsubishi Corporation was particularly impressed with Binh Dinh development orientation in terms of artificial intelligence that could not be found anywhere else in Vietnam; at the same time, he highly appreciated provincial human resources quality, the quick procedure of granting investment certificates and favorable natural conditions of the province.

Mr. Tetsu Funayama gave a brief on fields that Mitsubishi wanted to seek for investment opportunities in Binh Dinh.

At the meeting, Chairman of Binh Dinh PPC Ho Quoc Dung gave an overview of the provincial socio-economic development and said Binh Dinh was trying to become the southern growth province of the key economic region. Chairman Ho Quoc Dung affirmed that the province could meet investors' requirements on tourism development, master plan, specific products in agriculture and fisheries, renewable energy and information technology and capability of provincial industrialization. The Chairman committed to creating favorable conditions for the group to seek for investment opportunities in the province.

It is known that Mitsubishi is the largest Japanese trading group, with over 220 offices operating in 90 countries around the world, 626 subsidiary companies and about 69,000 multinational employees. The group does business and investment in all sectors of the industry including energy, metals, machinery, chemicals, food and consumption.

On the following day (July 12), the delegation had site visits at Binh Dinh Industrial – Service and Residential Complex (Becamex Binh Dinh), Phu Tai Bioenergy Joint Stock Company (producing wood pellets for export) and Binh Dinh General Hospital.
