Binh Dinh leaders met with Auckland University of Technology

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of May 10, 2019 a delegation of Auckland University of Technology (AUT), led by Mr. Lester Khoo, International Cooperation Director – Auckland University of Technology had a meeting with Binh Dinh leaders regarding the cooperation in education and training sector. Receiving the delegation, there were Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung – Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of relevant departments, agencies.

At the meeting, AUT delegation recommended the training programs of the university, especially the programs related to the tourism sector that Binh Dinh is interested in: designing the capacity to operate the tourism program; training of protocol, room service; developing products and managing travel events; managing marine resources, protecting marine environment and island tourism; tour guide, destination interpretation, etc...

After exchanges and discussions, the two sides signed a cooperation memorandum to promote the development in the fields of education, research, advisory activity and create opportunities for officials and civil servants of Binh Dinh province to be trained in New Zealand and Vietnam based on the requirements of Binh Dinh People`s Committee and AUT`s strength.

Mr. Lester Khoo believed that the Memorandum of Understanding would open opportunities for long-term cooperation in many fields between the two sides; at the same time, said AUT would implement a strategy to support strategic partner - Binh Dinh province, by giving many scholarships and tuition assistance to students from Binh Dinh province as well as learners Binh Dinh would send to study at AUT.

Secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed his thanks to AUT for its commitment to support Binh Dinh students and hoped AUT to assist in human resources training to serve Binh Dinh socio-economic development.

As known, AUT is one of the top 500 universities in the world and the fastest growing university in New Zealand with the highest percentage of graduates having jobs. Presently, more than 400 Vietnamese students are taking part in different programs at AUT.
