The 41-year anniversary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos’ National Day

On the afternoon of December 1, 2016, at the Cultural House (Quy Nhon City), Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh Province organized a meeting to celebrate the 41-year anniversary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos’ National Day (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2016). The meeting was attended by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, Mr. Phan Phi Ho, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Dinh Province, Mr. Vo Dinh Thu, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Council, former leaders and 125 Laotian students studying in the province.

Representative of Binh Dinh Youth Union granted two scholarships for two students of Champasak Province to study in Quy Nhon University.

At the meeting, Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan, Head of the Provincial Propaganda Committee, Chairman of Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh Province delivered a speech on the special friendship relation, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam in the past years. Especially, the establishment of Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh Province has greatly contributed to the enhancement of comprehensive cooperation and special friendship relation between the people of the two countries in general, Binh Dinh and Southern Provinces of Laos in particular.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung congratulated on the 41-year anniversary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos’ National Day; at the same time, confirmed that the Party, the authority and the people of Binh Dinh Province always show their respect and honor and try their great efforts and together with the Party, the authority, the people of Southern Provinces of Laos strengthen and develop the special friendship relation and comprehensive cooperation between Binh Dinh and Southern Provinces of Laos in different fields.

On this occasion, Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh Province had mobilized sponsors to offer 14 scholarships (one million VND/each) for 14 Laotian students with excellent results in their studies. Binh Dinh Youth Union also granted 02 scholarships (100 million VND/each) for two Champasak students to study in Quy Nhon University.
