Launching a theoretical physics group

On October 1, 2016, at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Rencontres du Vietnam organized a launching ceremony of theoretical physics group. The ceremony was attended by Prof. Tran Thanh Van – Chairman of Rencontres du Vietnam, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung – Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee and international scientists.

The theoretical physics group led by Dr. Le Duc Ninh and Dr. Tran Thi Nhung will gather national and international scientists to do scientific researches in theoretical physics. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung emphasized the importance and necessity for the scientific development in Vietnam in general and Binh Dinh in particular. This theoretical physics group will work as “a bridge” to attract young scientists to contribute to science. This is a premise for the construction of a research institute for interdisciplinary science and education belonging to ICISE in the coming time. The Chairman also said the Government of Vietnam supports for the establishment of a research institute belonging to ICISE in Binh Dinh Province.

According to Prof. Tran Thanh Van, it is important to establish an excellent research institute in Vietnam with a research environment equivalent to international institutes in the world so as to promote the development of science and education in Vietnam and contribute to the enhancement of the image and position of Vietnam science in the international arena, attracting high qualified scientific human resources in Vietnam, Vietnamese-born scientists to work and research in Vietnam.
