U.S Embassy in Ha Noi talked about Fulbright scholarship

The program was attended by Ms. Marcia Anglarill, Cultural Attaché – U.S Embassy in Ha Noi and 17 researchers, lecturers, teachers, architects and entrepreneurs from ministries, agencies and social organizations of different provinces/cities.
Speaking at the opening session, Associate Professor, Doctor Dinh Thanh Duc, Vice President of Quy Nhon University welcomed delegates to the program and believed that the Fulbright scholarship program is very useful and necessary for those wanting to study in the U.S. He also hoped that in the future there would be more programs like this at Quy Nhon University.

Presently, Fulbright in Vietnam includes three programs: Vietnam Scholar Program (for those wanting to research and teach in the U.S), Vietnam student program (for those wanting to the U.S for postgraduates) and English teaching assistant program (for those wanting to come to the U.S to teach Vietnamese for native English speakers). Questions related to criteria for candidates, how to successfully answer questions at the interviews, how to adapt to the culture and accommodation in the U.S at the initial period, etc. These questions were answered during the educational exchange.
The Fulbright Program was established by the U.S. Congress in 1945. The purpose of the Fulbright Program worldwide is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries by means of educational and cultural exchange. In Vietnam, the Fulbright program was established in 1992 and so far there have been 500 Vietnamese to be selected for the program.
