Conference on International Integration and Sustainable Development in South Central Region of Vietnam

Speaking at the opening session, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung said, with important geographical location and advantages on natural resources the south central region of Vietnam had achieved positive results in socio-economic development. The participation of international economic integration would bring great opportunities for south central region of Vietnam in order to promote the potential. Also, it would remain challenges, including internal difficulties (limited infrastructural structure and human resources) and external challenges.
With its topic of “International Integration and Sustainable development”, the conference helped delegates update external information and implement the international integration throughout the country, especially the participation of Asian Economic community (AEC) and free trade agreements, the discussion of opportunities and challenges and solutions with the aim of assisting localities and enterprises of south central region of Vietnam to effectively join international economic integration.
At the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang said, together with Vietnam, Binh Dinh identified the importance of international integration and foreign affairs activities towards provincial socio-economic development. Binh Dinh Province had focused on international integration and provincial foreign affairs activities under the guidelines of the Party, the State and achieved important results in such fields, including education, science and technology, investment attraction, etc. The conference is also an opportunity for foreign affairs departments and other departments, agencies and enterprises of 5 provinces in south central regions of Vietnam to exchange, discuss and update new information, new knowledge and invaluable experience on international integration. As a result, those agencies would propose to their local leaders so that international integration would be better in the coming time.
