Provincial People's Committee leader receives the Italian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 12, on the occasion of a working visit to Binh Dinh province, Mr. Enrico Padula, Italian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City and his spouse paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) leaders. Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leading representatives of related departments and agencies received the Consul General and his spouse.

At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, PPC Vice Chairman gave a brief on Binh Dinh potential, strengths as well as the provincial socio-economic development in 2022. In terms of the provincial development orientations in the coming time, Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang said: Binh Dinh continues to make great efforts to maintain economic growth in a sustainable direction, striving to build Binh Dinh to become one of the leading growing provinces of the Central Vietnam, in which tourism is considered as a key economic sector with the aim of developing Binh Dinh to become a tourism center in the region and in Asia, creating a driving force for socio-economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang also said that over the past years Binh Dinh has increased promotion, introduced potential, strengths, and list of projects calling for investment to investors and businesses in the region and abroad. Particularly, Binh Dinh has coordinated with ministries, central agencies, embassies and consulate generals of countries and Vietnam diplomatic representative agencies abroad to organize investment promotion conferences both in the country and in the world. Up to now, Binh Dinh province has attracted 87 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of about USD 1.1 billion, in which there were no investment projects of businesses and partners from Italy. The results of investment and trade cooperation between Binh Dinh province and Italian businesses and partners were not commensurate with the potential and strategic partnership between the two countries.

In the coming years, the Vice Chairman hoped that the Consul General as a bridge would actively pay attention and effectively connect Italian businesses with strengths in the fields that the province is calling for investment to seek for business opportunities in Binh Dinh province in such fields as industry, service, trade, tourism, and so on. At the same time, he also hoped that the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen coordination with the Provincial People's Committee to organize cultural and artistic exchange activities between the two sides, contributing to the establishment and promotion of friendship and cooperation relations between Binh Dinh and Italian partners.

PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang pledged to create all favorable conditions for Italian businesses and partners in particular and foreign businesses in general when coming to survey and invest in Binh Dinh province.

Mr. Enrico Padula, Italian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City expressed his thanks to PPC leaders and leading representatives of departments and agencies for warm welcome.

Based on the provided information, the Consul General highly valued the potential and strengths of the province, especially in terms of long history and culture, beauty spots and well-known cultural and historical relics in Binh Dinh province. He also said that besides the potential and economic strengths, there were similarities between Binh Dinh and Italy, and on that basis, the two sides could expand cooperation in the coming time.

As Italian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Enrico Padula said that he would strengthen the connection of Italian businesses to seek for investment and business opportunities in Binh Dinh province and organize delegations to exchange information and promote the relations between the two sides.

At the reception, both PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang and the Italian Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Enrico Padula expressed their desire to strengthen the cooperation relations between the two sides in the coming time, especially in 2023 when Vietnam and Italy celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and 10 years of strategic partnership.
