Leaders of Binh Dinh People’s Committee met with prof. Ngo Bao Chau and the VISAM delegation

Prof. Ngo Bao Chau (striped shirt) listened to a presentation by a representative of Construction Department on the hand-over of the site for VISAM project.

At the meeting, the VISAM delegation spoke the establishment of Binh Dinh Centre for Study in Applied Mathematics in the field of banking and financial economics.

Prof. Ngo Bao Chau – the VISAM Director requested Binh Dinh People’s Committee to recommend an appropriate site (about 1 hectare) within Science and Technology Urban Area, planned by the local authority. Besides, the province should prepare a high-qualified officials and cadres in this field so as to attract such talents for Binh Dinh Province.

It is expected that when put into operation, a large number of conferences, workshops, international mathematics examinations, training association in mathematics and other scientific fields, and assistance for strategic researches will be organized at the VISAM branch in Binh Dinh Province.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman Mai Thanh Thang was very glad to welcome and receive well-known mathematicians in the world to Binh Dinh Province. He confirmed that VISAM and BIDV have chosen Binh Dinh in order to set up Binh Dinh Centre for Study in Applied Mathematics in the field of banking and financial economics would have a great influence on socio-economic development of the province afterwards. Standing Vice Chairman Mai Thanh Thang committed to creating favorable conditions for the project to be soon implemented in the future.
