Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee meeting with the World Bank delegation

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang expressed his thanks to the World Bank for the funding of previous projects in Binh Dinh Province. These projects have been very effective. Vice Chairman hoped that this project would also be successful and the World Bank would further support the urban improvement in the province.

Mr. Le Duy Hung, project manager of the sanitation projects of the coastal cities of the World Bank, highly appreciated the province's efforts in completing the project, improving the sanitation in Quy Nhon City. Phase 1 of the project has been completed and the delivery of operational use occurred in April 2015, with a total investment of the project is 74.8 million USD. However, the project still has some problems to solve such as connection of water waste, site clearance and compensation.

At teh request of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, after completing phase 1 of the project, it is necessary to continue deploying phase 2 with the aim of improving the environment and constructing the infrastructure of Quy Nhon City. The total investment of the project is approximately 66.5 million USD, including the completion of wastewater and garbage collection system, urban infrastructure improvement (extending Hoang Van Thu street and constructing Hoa Lu bridge).

Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang committed to continue the awareness enhancement in the task of sewage connections to each household, implementation of the system in new urban areas; and direct related departments and agencies to accelerate the project implementation. Vice Chairman requested this phase would prioritize the connection issues, wastewater collection, the construction of Hoa Lu bridge and Cau Doi (double bridge) in the process of urban improvement.
