Opening of Binh Dinh Essence of Land and Sea Festival 2024 "Binh Dinh - Desire for the sea"

 Speaking at the opening program, Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Head of the Festival Steering Committee, said, implementing the Resolution of the Party Central Committee (term XII) on Strategy  To sustainably develop Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, Binh Dinh Province has set out a policy of sustainable exploitation of fisheries, good protection of aquatic resources, achieving reasonable growth, associated with the application of scientific and technological advances in catching, preserving and processing seafood.  In recent years, the province's fishing industry has achieved significant achievements, especially the ocean tuna fishing industry with a fleet of 1,400 professionally operating vessels, annually catching nearly 14,000 tons,  accounting for more than 60% of the country's ocean tuna production.

In addition to developing sustainable fishing, the province has focused on inviting and attracting investment in aquaculture export processing factories, especially processing and exporting ocean tuna products under the brand name “Binh Dinh big tuna” fully meets the standards and has been exported to the EU, US, Japan markets, contributing to increasing export turnover, creating jobs, and enhancing production value, gradually turning the marine economy into a key economic sector in the province's economic structure.

 Continuing the success of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Week (Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024) with highlights being the Aquabike World Championship and the F1H2O Motorboat World Championship; a series of summer 2024 tourism events, including the International TeqBall Tournament; The 2024 Binh Dinh Sea Essence Festival is one of the outstanding events, including a series of events: Food Festival of delicacies from the sea, OCOP Fair, craft villages, Street Festival and Light Festival along with  Artistic fireworks display.

 Standing Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized that, coming to the 2024 Binh Dinh Sea Essence Festival, visitors will have interesting and impressive experiences and discoveries with unique and rich activities and as diverse as: Enjoy cuisine using Binh Dinh ocean tuna to prepare European dishes, Japanese dishes, Korean dishes, Chinese dishes; Visit the vocational demonstration booths and display specialty products and OCOP products of Binh Dinh and other provinces; Admire and enjoy the show "Binh Dinh tuna cutting and filleting performance" performed by top Japanese chefs; enjoy the Art Program “Binh Dinh – desire for the sea”; vibrant music performances combined with carnival performances; Performing unique art forms of the province such as: Bai choi, Tuong singing, Cham dancing, Ba Trao singing,  Enjoy the Street Festival and Light Festival performances that are truly attractive to residents and tourists.

 Immediately after the opening ceremony, the art program “Binh Dinh - Desire for the Sea” opening the 2024 Binh Dinh Essence of Sea and Land Festival was held with 2 chapters.  Chapter 1 has the theme “Essence of the Land and the Sea”, with the theatrical performance “Hoo of the Sacred Land - Essence of the Land and the Sea” introducing and highlighting the values of Bai Choi;  Recreating Binh Dinh traditional martial arts; The Art of Hat Boi;  Ho Ba Trao - Cau Ngu Festival; Sa Huynh - Champa cultural heritage value; Focus on highlighting the maritime culture of coastal people in the Central region in general and Binh Dinh in particular;  Highlights the image of Binh Dinh fishermen boarding boats to go out to sea with the hope of a peaceful and prosperous sea season. Chapter 2 with the theme “Quy Nhon - Shining green city” focuses on introducing Quy Nhon coastal city, the center of Binh Dinh province, a green city on the ocean shore, where the leaders and people of Binh Dinh have been proud of.  Generations join hands to build to forever live up to the title of "ASEAN Clean Tourism City" and "Happy City" which is the pride of Quy Nhon people in particular and Binh Dinh people in general, a symbol of a Binh Dinh  sustainable development in the future.

 Besides, the audience can also enjoy performances with the participation of famous artists and singers such as: Quang Dung, MIN, Kyo York, Phuc Bo, Rick, 9Fire...

This afternoon, at the Children's Park of Quy Nhon City, the Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the Delicious Sea Cuisine Festival and the OCOP Fair, Binh Dinh Province Craft Villages 2024. At the program, professional chefs in  domestically and internationally have processed dishes with the main ingredient being ocean tuna - a strong product of Binh Dinh province with an average annual catch of nearly 14,000 tons, accounting for more than 60% of output ocean tuna nationwide, and Binh Dinh agricultural products.  In particular, Chef Kim Bernard Chilcott - Culinary Director of AL Frescos Group prepared tuna salad with spicy coconut sauce and pan-fried tuna with potatoes; Chef Ly Kim Long - Top 100 World Chefs 2023, WorldChefs judge prepares tuna curry;  Mr. Matsuo Tomoyuki - Chairman of the Vietnam - Japan Culinary Culture Association prepared a combo of tuna sushi and tuna salad with sandwiches. In addition, grilled tuna marinated with sauces typical of European, Japanese and Binh Dinh tastes will be prepared by chef Ly Kim Long and Australian, Japanese and Binh Dinh chefs;  Giant banh xeo filled with ocean tuna, 2 meters in diameter, prepared by artist and chef Tran Ngoc Sang. Organizers give away 1,500 free fish meals with priority to visitors who book tours from travel companies and visitors who participate in games at food stalls during the 5 days of the Festival.

 Food fair "Delicious dishes from the sea" and OCOP Products; Craft villages in Binh Dinh province have a scale of over 100 booths and 50 units; Gathering the participation of 10 restaurants inside and outside the province, 21 OCOP product business units;  Binh Dinh province craft villages and 19 regionally specific OCOP product units from 09 provinces/cities including: Soc Trang, Tra Vinh, Tay Ninh, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Da Nang, Ha Tinh, Lao Cai, and Thai Nguyen. Every day, the Fair is open from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

 Street festival with the theme: "Binh Dinh welcomes summer" will take place at 5:00 p.m, July 14, at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, marching on a number of streets from Nguyen Tat Thanh Square to Xuan Dieu Street, Nguyen Hue Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square.

 The festival of light (closing) with the theme "Quy Nhon - Shining Lighthouse" takes place at 8:00 p.m, July 14, 2024 at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square, broadcast live on Binh Dinh Television Station and will close with a colorful artistic fireworks display.​​​​​​​
