Provincial People's Committee meets to assess socio-economic situation in January, deploy tasks for February 2025

In January 2025, the Provincial People's Committee focused on implementing the plan to implement key goals and tasks for 2025 and preparations for the Lunar New Year. In the agricultural sector, farmers focused on taking care of winter-spring crops and promoting livestock farming activities to serve consumption during the Tet holiday.  Currently, the price of live pigs remains high, consumption increases, and farmers have made a good profit.

Shopping demand at traditional markets, supermarkets and shopping centers is bustling and vibrant, the market of goods is rich, diverse, prices are stable, well meeting the shopping and consumption needs of people, especially essential consumer goods. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in January 2025 is estimated at VND 9,920.3 billion, up 8.2% over the previous month and up 10.8% over the same period in 2024. All levels, sectors and localities have focused on inspecting and controlling market prices and goods, preventing speculation, hoarding, price hikes, price pressure, etc. to ensure that goods meet consumer needs.

Leaders at all levels, sectors, localities, enterprises, and philanthropists inside and outside the province have organized many activities to care for Tet widely for people with meritorious services to the country, poor and near-poor households, and cases subject to social protection. Accordingly, 100% of poor and near-poor households in the province have received Tet gifts. People with meritorious services in the province received more than 44,000 gifts from the President, 44,700 gifts from provincial leaders. In addition, localities have promptly paid preferential allowances for people with meritorious services to the January and February 2025 revolutions to 30,005 people with meritorious services, with an implementation cost of over 167.3 billion VND.

 At tourist areas, points, and destinations, large accommodation establishments have decorated symbols of the traditional Vietnamese New Year in separate areas for tourists to check-in, take photos, and have many attractive promotions and discounts to attract customers. In January 2025, the number of tourists to the province is estimated at over 515,000, an increase of 5.2% over the same period. The Department of Culture - Sports has also prepared festival and cultural and artistic activities to serve the people.

Some economic indicators in the month had a good growth rate such as wet export turnover reaching 155 million USD, attracting 10 domestic investment projects and 1 FDI project with a total registered capital of more than 710 billion VND. Public investment disbursement activities were urged and implemented right from the beginning of the year...

Concluding the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that right from the beginning of the year, the entire political system of the province has actively participated, determined to implement the assigned tasks, goals and targets for 2025.  In addition to activities to care for and prepare for Tet, agencies, units and localities still operate to ensure work is resolved and assigned tasks are carried out.

In the coming time, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that departments, branches and localities must gradually complete assigned indicators and targets with a "speedy" spirit. Difficult and stuck tasks must be solved directly, without waiting. The entire government system from the province to the grassroots level must fundamentally change the way it works, radically shortening the time to resolve work. Focus on removing difficulties and obstacles in projects and urging implementation. Localities focus on site clearance to implement investment projects.

Regarding Tet care, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan affirmed that poor, near-poor households and policy families in the province must be taken care of carefully. Localities must carefully review and promptly supplement so as not to miss anyone.  The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee reminded the Department of Tourism and localities to focus on welcoming tourists and returning to their hometowns to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025, including paying attention to carefully preparing activities to welcome tourists on trains. Civil servants and workers enjoy the Spring Festival but do not forget their duties.

Strengthen the work of ensuring environmental hygiene and food safety. Any service establishment that causes food safety incidents must be strictly handled. Relevant departments, branches and units must ensure communication, lighting for daily life and production; ensure social order and security, traffic safety, etc.

The head of the provincial government emphasized that immediately after the Lunar New Year, localities should focus on implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses based on a specific phased plan.
