The delegation of Binh Dinh province to promote investment and trade visited and worked with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry

In the program of promoting investment and trade in the French Republic, this morning, July 22 (local time), the delegation of Binh Dinh province led by comrade Le Kim Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and worked with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Attending the meeting were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang and leaders of a number of departments, branches, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company, Green Tech Company.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Christophe Bellanger - Deputy Director, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ms. Agnès Gomes - Head of the International Cooperation Connection Department, French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIF), Mr. Remy - Deputy Director of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam, Mr. Dao Quoc  Cuong - Chief Representative of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in France and representative of the Embassy of Vietnam in France. Mr. Christophe Bellanger - Deputy General Director of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry was pleased to welcome the delegation of Binh Dinh province to visit and work with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In France, there is a system of 122 chambers of commerce and industry with 12 regional chambers of commerce and industry (of which the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry is the largest), with the function of supporting and accompanying businesses in starting up, seeking investment opportunities, promoting trade; training human resources, representing businesses in negotiations; supporting the organization of conferences on investment promotion. He said that he had come to Vietnam and was very impressed with the socio-economic development as well as highly appreciated the dynamism of businesses, potential, and investment opportunities in Vietnam; at the same time, emphasizing the long-standing Vietnam - France relationship in all fields;  However, the investment of French enterprises in Vietnam in general and Binh Dinh in particular is not commensurate with that relationship. In the coming time, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and he personally will continue to act as a bridge, promoting the call for French investors in Vietnam in general and Binh Dinh in particular. The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry will coordinate with partners to organize investment promotion conferences with Vietnamese enterprises at the national level, and at the same time try to integrate thematic discussion sessions with specific localities into the conference. In the immediate future, it is expected to organize such a conference in France in October 2024 and respectfully invite Binh Dinh province to attend. He also suggested that the provincial leaders pay attention to working with travel companies to put Binh Dinh into the system of stops for international tours.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Kim Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, expressed his honor to visit and work with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and sincerely thanked Mr. Christophe Bellanger and his colleagues, along with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in France for taking the time to work with the delegation.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Le Kim Toan, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, also briefly introduced the characteristics of Binh Dinh, which has a favorable location with full means of transportation; information on the socio-economic development situation of the province in recent times, especially the attraction of foreign investment in Binh Dinh, the areas that the province is interested in and prioritizes to attract investment.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee introduced the characteristics of Binh Dinh, the province has a very important position in Vietnam's trade and connects with the Central Highlands, Southern Laos, Northeastern Cambodia, and Thailand. Binh Dinh has full means of transportation.  Binh Dinh has a natural area of ​​6,071 km2, a population of 1.5 million people, and 134 km of coastline. Quy Nhon international seaport is the nearest sea route for the Central Highlands, Southern Laos, Northeastern Cambodia, and Thailand. Binh Dinh has all the conditions for development. In the planning of Binh Dinh province to 2035 and orientation to 2050, Binh Dinh becomes one of the centers of marine economy, tourism center, renewable energy development, and cultural center of the South of the North Central and Central Coast regions. To achieve that goal, the province is implementing and planning 15 industrial parks with an area of ​​over 7,000 hectares, 62 industrial clusters with an area of ​​over 3,000 hectares.  Of which, 03 industrial parks have been filled and 03 industrial parks have completed infrastructure ready to attract investment, including Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park with an industrial area of ​​1000ha, phase 1 of 600ha has been inaugurated, with a convenient location for traffic connection. In addition, a logistics center has been planned with Phu Cat airport with an area of ​​100ha and can be expanded to 500ha. In addition, Binh Dinh province also plans a deep-water port area associated with the Industrial Park (840ha) capable of receiving ships with a capacity of 250,000 tons. This is an area with full conditions for implementing renewable energy projects and hydrogen production. In addition, Binh Dinh is planning urban areas, resort tourism, and high-tech aquaculture areas along the 134km long beach.  With 03 universities, 03 vocational schools and many hospitals, the province has all the conditions to provide human resources for projects. With the desire to rise, Binh Dinh always cares about supporting and creating the best conditions for investors. We always consider the interests of investors as our own interests.

Regarding investment attraction, in recent times, Binh Dinh has made efforts to attract foreign investors. Currently, the province has 91 FDI projects with a total capital of 1.2 billion USD from 22 countries and territories (including 04 projects from Germany and 02 projects from the Netherlands); there are 02 investment projects from the French Republic: 1) The International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education Project of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education Company Limited, implemented by Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van - Chairman of the Rencontres du Vietnam.  This is a place for meetings, exchanges, and transfers of science and technology, annually organizing more than 20 international conferences and seminars on physics, astronomy, physics classes, welcoming many Nobel Prize and Fields Prize winning professors... 2) GreenYellow Group, France, through capital contribution and capital repurchase, currently owns 70% of charter capital in TTP Binh Dinh Energy and High Technology Joint Stock Company; operating the Cat Hiep Solar Power Plant project in Phu Cat district. French investment in Vietnam and Binh Dinh is not commensurate with the good relationship between Vietnam and France, the program is commensurate with French enterprises, the advantages of Vietnam and Binh Dinh. On the occasion of the visit, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped that Mr. Christophe Bellanger and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry would pay attention to supporting the connection and promotion of French investment in Vietnam.  We respectfully invite Mr. Christopher and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit, survey and implement specific projects in Binh Dinh soon. If the Conference is held in France in October 2024, Binh Dinh will prepare documents and send a delegation to attend. Based on the conference in October 2024 in France, we respectfully invite the leaders of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and French enterprises to come and explore investment in Binh Dinh in 2025.

The visit and work in France has successfully concluded the working program of the Binh Dinh Provincial Delegation in 3 countries: Germany, France, and the Netherlands. The activities and events of meetings, dialogues, and investment promotion of the Delegation in European countries have received high appreciation from representatives of local authorities, leaders of friendship organizations, trade and investment, and attracted the attention of the business community of the host countries. In addition, the activities of the Union have contributed significantly to promoting the image, potential and strengths of Binh Dinh province to friends from other countries. This is also one of the activities to promote international integration, mobilize external resources, attract investment, promote the province's foreign relations with organizations and localities of European countries, on that basis, build a variety of new cooperative relationships, serving the sustainable development of the province.
