Leader of Binh Dinh People’s Committee met with a delegation of Smart Development Works
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Tran Chau (standing) gave a speech at the meeting with SNV.
At the meeting, Ms. Tran Tu Anh – SNV Country Director in Vietnam said that the project of FLOW/EOWE would be implemented in Kenya and Vietnam from 2016 till 2020 with the total funding of 6.6 million €. In Vietnam, the project will be implemented in 4 provinces: Binh Dinh, Quang Binh, Binh Thuan, and Ninh Thuan with the total funding of 2 million €.
Representative of SNV also said that the purpose of the program is to develop agricultural economy and improve the gender equality, creating favorable conditions for women to participate in economic development as well as the development of women’s enterprises. Besides, the program also assists small and medium –sized enterprises and agricultural co-operatives owned by women or helps women to access the technique, market and services, business so as to improve the gender equality in economic activities.
Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Tran Chau expresses his thanks to Holland Government and SNV for the support and assistance in completing the project “Funding Leadership and Opportunities for Women - Enhancing Opportunities for Women’s Enterprises” in Binh Dinh Province. Vice Chairman Tran Chau assigned the Provincial Women’s Union to work as a contact point to receive the project and Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to prepare particular programs which are appropriate with the requirements of the project and the demands of the province, proposing to the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province for consideration and decision.
Smart Development Works (SNV), an international non-profit organization, was established in 1965 and began to implement programs/projects in Vietnam in 1995. Up to now, the programs of SNV have been deployed in 44 provinces/cities in Vietnam and achieved success in many fields, including the fields of promoting gender equality and economic empowerment of women.
