Leaders of Binh Dinh People’s Committee meeting in Laos

(binhdinh.gov.vn)-Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang, leaders of related departments and agencies, leaders of Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company (BIDIFAR) just finished a working visit to Laos. Mr. Somsanit Buttivong, Deputy Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee welcomed and received the delegation.

In Laos, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang attended the 20th anniversary of the establishment of CBF Pharma Company (January 9, 1995 – January 9, 2015). During the cooperation between Binh Dinh and Champasak in healthcare sector, the establishment and effective operation of CBF Pharma Company – a joint venture between BIDIPHAR and Champasak Pharmaceutical Enterprise – had been considered a sample for the friendship cooperation between the two countries. Being transferred the technology to produce pharmaceutical products and management experience by BIDIPHAR, CBF Pharma Company has continuously developed and become one of the leading pharmaceutical companies in the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos, reaching 70% of pharmaceutical products in Laos.

To acknowledge BIDIPHAR’s great support, the company was awarded a Friendship Medal by the State of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos. Mr. Nguyen Van Qua, General Director of BIDIPHAR and Mr. Le Minh Tan, Former Chairman of Management Board of CBF Pharma Company concurrently Former General Director of BIDIPHAR were awarded Development Medals. Both Deputy Directors of BIDIPHAR named Pham Thi Thanh Huong and Nguyen Thanh Giang were handed certificates of recognition by the Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos for their invaluable supports to the development of CBF Pharma Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang confirmed that the establishment and operation of CBF Pharma Company in Pakse would be the first cooperative achievement between the two provinces and a new progress in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry of Champasak in particular and the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos in general with a combination between BIDIPHAR’s transferred production technology and the potential market in Laos. He also said that was a successfully economic model between Binh Dinh and Champasak.

During the visit to the Southern Provinces of Laos, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang and his delegation had a site visit to the Rubber Processing Factory of Laos – Viet Nam Friendship Rubber Factory (LVF) in Tha Teng district, Sekong province. Presently, LVF has 167 Vietnamese staff and workers and 648 Laotian. In 2012, 500 tons of dry rubber latax was produced. In 2013, the factory output increased by 1,500 tons and reached 2,300 tons in 2014. The factory does not only create job opportunities and improve the local living conditions but also contribute 5 billion VND for infrastructure improvement and socio-economic development in project-based locality./.
