The Press Meeting of the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the Planetarium and Exploratorium and the Opening Session of the International Scientific Conference in 2015

Attending the press meeting were leader representatives of related departments and agencies, the Provincial Reporter Association, and central and local news agencies in the province.
At the press meeting, Vice Chairwoman of PPC Tran Thi Thu Ha informed the time, the venue, and the scale of the project “The Planetarium and the Exploratorium” and the International Scientific Conference in 2015. Accordingly, the Ground-Breaking Ceremony begins at 8:00 on July 20, 2015 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). This project will fully put into operation in 2017. This project includes three components: Planetarium, Science Museum and Astronomy Observatory. The total of building floor area is 12,659 m2;; the total investment funding of the project is 171 billion VND.
The Planetarium would include: the displaying and observing room, main projector, auxiliary projector, technical control, computers, etc…, using the latest projection technology, giving us the chance to discover the universe on the screen.
Science Museum would include: many exhibition areas for scientific experiments with many aspects: physics, chemistry, technique, life science, etc… Exhibition experiments shall be divided into sections: The section for exploring physics with experiments, the section for mathematics, the section for life science, etc.
Astronomy Observatory would include: setting up 10 astronomical telescopes with the best conditions and easy to use. Besides, the Science Centre has a friendly and large space for cafeteria, corner for reading books, community science library, etc…

At the press meeting, prof. Tran Thanh Van said that from July 19 till July 25, 2015 there would have a series of international scientific conferences with the participation of hundreds of leading scientists in the world, including the two Nobel laureates in physics.
Speaking at the press meeting, Chairman of PPC Ho Quoc Dung confirmed that the construction of the first Planetarium and Exploratorium in Viet Nam would bring science close to the public, arousing the love of science for young generations; at the same time, a prerequisite for developing a unique and creative model of Binh Dinh Province in particular and Viet Nam in general.
