Conference on Investment Promotion in the Central Coastal Region
(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the afternoon of October 10, at the Provincial Convention Center (Quy Nhon City), the People's Committee of Binh Dinh Province coordinated with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and localities in the Central Coastal Region to organize the Conference on Investment Promotion in the Central Coastal Region. This event is part of a series of events of the Conference to review 1 year of implementing the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coastal Region provinces.
Attending the event were Dr. Tran Ky Phuc, Director of the Institute of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Dr. Tran Du Lich - Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Implementation of Resolution 98 of Ho Chi Minh City; Member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council; Mr. Duong Ngoc Hai, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of Quang Ngai, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan provinces. On the side of Binh Dinh province, the conference was attended by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan, leaders of departments, branches and localities. The conference was attended by dozens of domestic enterprises.

In his welcome speech at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan stated: The Central Coast region, including the provinces of Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh, has potential and advantages for economic development in many fields, especially marine economy, seaports, important strengths for socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the sea and islands of the region and the whole country. In particular, one of the biggest advantages of the localities in the region is the geographical near the largest economic locomotive of the country, Ho Chi Minh City, and the localities are all bordered by the sea, with many lagoons, bays, beautiful beaches, and a clean living environment; The diverse terrain creates the basis for the formation of many attractive tourist areas and destinations, suitable for the investment needs of businesses and the needs of tourists to experience and explore.
In recent years, the Party Committee and the government of each locality in the Region have made strong efforts, proactively exploited potentials and advantages, promoted investment attraction, accelerated socio-economic development and achieved positive and comprehensive results in all sectors and fields, contributing to promoting the Central Coast Region to gradually become one of the leading dynamic development regions in the country.
For Binh Dinh province, from a province with a low starting point, in recent years, it has risen to become a fairly developed province, the scale of the economy changes every year; by 2023, the economic scale of the province will reach more than 117 trillion VND, ranking 24th out of 63 localities nationwide. In the first 9 months of 2024 alone, the gross local product (GRDP) increased by 7.53% (ranked 25th out of 63 localities nationwide and 5th out of 14 localities in the North Central and Central Coast regions).

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized that the socio-economic development perspective of the province in the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is to maximize the potential and specific advantages to develop Binh Dinh into a province with a high proportion of industrial and service economy; a center of processing, manufacturing, service and tourism industry in the Central Coast and Central Highlands; a major center of the country for marine economic development; an important economic and foreign trade hub between Vietnam and countries in the Mekong sub-region; a national and international tourist center with a synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure system. In particular, by 2030, Binh Dinh province strives to become a leading province in the Central region, connecting and having a spillover effect on the provinces of the Northern Central Highlands. Regarding the orientation of attracting investment into the province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said: Binh Dinh province focuses on inviting investors with modern, environmentally friendly technology, effectively using resources with products with competitive advantages, prioritizing the following fields: First, the field of Agriculture, forestry and fishery such as factories processing Agriculture, forestry and fishery, especially focusing on deep processing; Second, the field of Industry is Infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters; factories producing components, manufacturing and assembling automobiles; production of specialized electric motors; production of electric wires and cables, electrical equipment and accessories; production of fashion items; renewable energy projects (wind, solar, etc.); Third, the field of port and logistics services is Deep-water Port, Logistics Center in Phu My district; ICD dry port, logistics in Van Canh and Tuy Phuoc districts; Fourthly, the tourism sector, tourist areas along the coast of Binh Dinh province with a length of 134km, eco-tourism of Thi Nai Lagoon, Quy Nhon city, golf course, Vinh Son eco-tourism area (Vinh Thanh), La Vuong (Hoai Nhon town); Fifthly, the urban economic sector: Nam De Gi and Bac De Gi urban areas; urban areas east of Thi Nai Lagoon, Quy Nhon city; Sixthly, the health and education sector, calling for investment projects in international hospitals, international bilingual schools; Seventhly, the information technology sector: Calling for software production projects; data centers (Big Data); Semiconductor component projects, artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security...
On behalf of the leaders of 6 provinces in the central coastal region, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan pledged: when investing in Binh Dinh province in particular and the localities in the Central Coast region in general, businesses and investors will always be given all favorable conditions to successfully implement projects and develop sustainably.

At the conference, provincial leaders informed about the socio-economic development results, strengths of each locality, preferential policies to attract investment and introduced a list of projects calling for investment in the area.

Of which, Binh Dinh has 50 enterprises displaying typical products in the fields of agriculture and industry.
