Conference to review foreign affairs work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025

In 2024, the Department of Foreign Affairs actively advised the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws related to foreign affairs; organized many important foreign affairs events that attracted the attention of domestic and foreign agencies, units, partners and investors.  Coordinate with departments, branches and localities to promptly implement economic diplomacy, cultural diplomacy, foreign information, foreign protocol, protection of fishermen, citizens of the province abroad and foreigners in the province... contributing to enhancing the position and role of the Department in state management, meeting the requirements of expanding international cooperation and international economic integration according to the regulations of the Central and the province.

From the beginning of the year, the province issued a plan for key tasks of local foreign affairs, on that basis, the Department of Foreign Affairs has concretized and implemented many practical and effective foreign affairs activities according to the policies and orientations of the Party, the Government and the guidance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the goals and orientations of socio-economic development of the province.  Advise on organizing foreign affairs activities well to maintain and strengthen friendly cooperation relations with localities and foreign partners to become increasingly deeper, more substantial and in-depth, especially with traditional and friendly partners such as: Southern Laos provinces, Japan (Izumisano city, Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sakai city); Korea (Yongsan district); organizations and localities that have signed cooperation agreements with France, Germany, UAE, India, China, Thailand, Singapore, etc.;  In addition, successfully coordinating the organization of many important foreign affairs activities, many large, new, international events held for the first time in Vietnam, contributing to effectively promoting the province's image to international friends, opening up many new cooperation opportunities, such as: Culture, Sports and Tourism Week (AMAZING Binh Dinh Fest 2024), in which the UIM FIH2O International Professional Motor Boat Race and ABP Aquabike Water Motorcycle Race stand out (in this series of events, the province organized an International Investment Promotion Conference, with the participation of more than 1,000 domestic and international delegates,... and organized more than 10 bilateral meetings between provincial leaders and ambassadors, billionaires, and partners from Korea, UAE, Israel, Thailand, and Singapore);  Organize the 2024 Teqball World Championship and the 2024 Q-FAIR International Fair, gathering many domestic and international wood enterprises to participate in the exhibition with more than 1,000 booths.

Advise on the successful organization of trade and investment promotion conferences with partners from India and Thailand in Quy Nhon city; and carry out trade and investment promotion trips to Thailand, Japan, Korea, Germany, France, the Netherlands, etc.; Advise the Provincial People's Committee to allow the organization of 27 international conferences and seminars in the province under its authority, especially 24 international scientific conferences and seminars held at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), with nearly 850 international scientists participating.

Foreign reception work; mobilization and calling for aid from foreign non-governmental organizations; cultural diplomacy and foreign information work;  Consular work, citizen protection, propaganda of sovereignty over seas and islands... have made many efforts and innovations, gradually improving quality and efficiency.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang acknowledged and commended the achievements and efforts of the civil servants and employees of the Department of Foreign Affairs in 2024, contributing to the successful completion of the socio-economic development tasks of the province. According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, in order to complete the socio-economic development goals and targets in 2025, civil servants and employees of the foreign affairs sector must be more determined and make more efforts; innovate and make more breakthroughs to best complete the assigned political tasks. In the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang requested the Department of Foreign Affairs to actively and proactively advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to promptly direct the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws related to foreign affairs.  The Department of Foreign Affairs must promptly and seriously focus on reviewing and advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue complete documents, regulations and rules for unified management of foreign affairs activities in the province to have a basis and legal corridor to manage foreign affairs activities more closely and effectively in accordance with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.

In addition, be more proactive and regularly maintain contact, coordinate closely, seek support and assistance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese representative agencies abroad and abroad in Vietnam to expand diplomatic relations, attract foreign investment, promote trade and tourism more substantially, effectively, in depth, avoid formalities, waste and be suitable to the requirements of developing a green economy, digital economy, and high-tech industry today.

 Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang requested the Department of Foreign Affairs to closely monitor and regularly maintain contact to jointly implement the contents and tasks according to the Memorandums of Understanding and international cooperation agreements signed with localities and foreign partners, especially the content of friendly cooperation with the provinces of Southern Laos, Izumisano City (Japan), etc., and continue to focus on implementing related procedures to advise and propose the Provincial People's Committee to soon sign cooperation agreements with a number of new localities and partners according to the plan.

Advising the Provincial People's Committee to promote cultural, artistic, scientific and technological exchanges with localities and foreign partners and improve the effectiveness of propaganda, promotion, and introduction of the province's potential, advantages, images, investment projects, and incentive policies to serve the work of investment promotion, trade promotion, and tourism.

 Along with that, promote the dissemination of laws, especially laws regulating maritime borders and marine exploitation and fishing activities at sea, and laws of countries in the ASEAN region for fishermen, contributing to raising awareness, fully and seriously complying with legal regulations and ending violations of foreign waters, together with the whole country to overcome and soon remove the EC's yellow card for our country's fisheries sector. Continue to strengthen the solidarity and unity within the agency to best implement and complete assigned political tasks; focus on training, fostering, and improving the quality of cadres and civil servants to meet the requirements of tasks in the new era. Seriously, promptly, and effectively implement the work of arranging and streamlining the organization and human resources according to the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 18 of the Central Executive Committee of the Party.
