Delegation of Binh Dinh province visits and studies VinFast Factory in Hai Phong

VinFast Manufacturing and Trading Joint Stock Company was established in 2017, and is currently the best-selling electric vehicle manufacturer in Vietnam and ranked 28th in the world. VinFast electric vehicle products have been exported to many international markets such as the US, Indonesia, the Philippines, and many other countries.  It is known that VinFast is a member company of Vingroup Corporation, founded with the vision of becoming the world's leading smart electric vehicle brand, strongly contributing to promoting the global electric vehicle revolution. At the meeting, the delegation was introduced to visit the stamping workshop, body welding workshop, car assembly workshop, e-bus workshop at VinFast Hai Phong Factory; test driving VinFast car models (VF9, VF8, VF7, VF6, VF5, VFe34, VF3 and electric motorbikes).

At the meeting, Mr. Ron H. Slangen – Deputy Country Director and Head of Country Operations of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Mr. Le Khac Hiep – Vice Chairman of Vingroup Corporation discussed the benefits of electric vehicles, policies related to electric vehicles in Vietnam. In addition, detailed information was provided to delegates about the roadmap to increase the coverage of electric vehicles and VinFast's strategy in contributing to the implementation of green transportation in Vietnam.

Mr. Vo Van Trinh, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Department of Transport sharing about the local Green Transport Plan. Accordingly, Binh Dinh province has proposed a roadmap for green energy conversion in Binh Dinh.

Regarding roads, in the period from 2022 - 2030, Binh Dinh province will develop electric charging infrastructure to meet the needs of people and businesses; promote the conversion of electric road motor vehicles... In the period from 2031 - 2050, gradually limit and stop the use of cars, motorbikes, and scooters using fossil fuels for use in the province;  100% of road motor vehicles and construction motorbikes will switch to using electricity and green energy... Regarding urban transportation, strive to have 100% of buses and taxis use electricity and green energy by 2050.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Transport also pointed out some difficulties and obstacles in the green transformation in the province such as the fact that businesses and people still use very few electric vehicles due to limitations in green transport infrastructure, the development policy for this type of vehicle has not received due attention; the system of electric charging stations in the province is still very limited... In addition, he also proposed some tasks and solutions to complete the green transformation plan in Binh Dinh province, hoping that Vingroup Corporation in general and VinFast Company in particular will promote the early implementation of the Green Transformation Project in the province.

Within the framework of the study tour at VinFast Hai Phong Factory, on the afternoon of November 26, the Binh Dinh Provincial Delegation met and discussed with Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of Vingroup Corporation and President of VinFast and members of Vingroup Corporation on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on comprehensive cooperation on promoting green transformation in Binh Dinh province, signed on November 15, 2024 between the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province and Vingroup Corporation.
