According to the report, during the previous term of office, Viet Nam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh had dramatic changes and successfully carried out the role and tasks as a linking bridge among Binh Dinh people, authorities, organizations, and enterprises and those of southern provinces of Laos. The association in a close collaboration with relevant agencies counseled the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with southern provinces of Laos and enhance the awareness and strengthen the traditional friendship relation and special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. As a result, the cooperation between Binh Dinh and southern provinces of Laos has reached such achievements during the past few years, especially in the fields of business production, agriculture, human resource training, healthcare, service, etc., contributing to the socio-economic development as well as the friendship relation between the two countries.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Tran Thi Thu Ha highly valued the results that the association has achieved during the previous term of office and requested during the year of 2015-2020, Viet Nam – Laos Friendship Association in Binh Dinh in cooperation with related agencies to successfully carry out the propaganda and awareness improvement of the friendship relation and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos; at the same time, cooperate with departments and agencies in order to counsel and propose the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People’s Committee regarding the contents and solutions to implement cooperative programs between Binh Dinh and southern provinces of Laos to ensure the effectiveness and further development. Vice Chairwoman also said that the association needed to strengthen its organization, membership development, ensuring the stable operation of the association and further development, contributing to enhancing people-to-people diplomacy under the State and the Party’s guidelines.
