Binh Dinh high-ranking delegation paid a working visit to Attapeu

On July 7, 2016, Binh Dinh high-ranking delegation led by Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee and leaders of provincial departments, agencies and enterprises paid a working visit to Attapeu Province (People’s Democratic Republic of Laos). Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Let Xaynhaphon, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Attapeu People’s Council and leaders of related agencies of Attapeu Province.

At the meeting, Mr. Let Xaynhaphon welcomed Binh Dinh high-ranking delegation to work in Attapeu Province; at the same time, emphasized the official visit played an important role, contributing to strengthening friendly relations, special solidarity between the two Parties, the two States in general and the two provinces in particular.

The Attapeu leader informed the results of cooperation between the two provinces, period 2011-2016 on such fields as: agriculture, industry and trade, education and training, healthcare, and so on. Thanks for the cooperation and effective and positive assistance of Binh Dinh Province in the past years, Attapeu socio-economic development has increased a lot, enhancing the income and improving the local people’s life.

Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung expressed his thanks to Attapeu leaders for warm welcome. For the cooperation between the two provinces, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee hoped Attapeu Province to continue to create favorable conditions for Binh Dinh enterprises to do their business activities.

After the meeting, the leaders of the two provinces agreed to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation, period 2016 – 2021. Accordingly, the two provinces will have more meetings of high-ranking delegations so as to discuss and share experience on the issues of Party-building, political system, national defence, social security, socio-economic development, etc. Particularly, for agricultural sector, Binh Dinh will continue to assist Attapeu Province to train experts in the fields of farming, fishery, breeding and veterinary. Binh Dinh will also assist Attapeu agricultural staff to Binh Dinh Province in order to exchange and share experience in the field of agricultural production; organizing short-term training courses and actual practice guidelines at such agricultural production regions in the province.

For industry and trade sector, the two provinces committed to calling for enterprises to participate in trade fairs, annually held in each province so as to publicize the potential products of each province. Attapeu Province will continue to review and issue the mechanism and policies to create favorable conditions for Binh Dinh enterprises to do their investment promotion and business activities on such fields as commercial reforestation, forest product processing, mineral processing; the opening of departure stores for corrugated ion, steel, plastic pipe, zinc tube and petroleum export from Vietnam to Laos.

Leaders of the two provinces agreed to create favorable conditions for high-quality human resource training. Binh Dinh annually takes a consideration and offers 10 scholarships for Attapeu students to study at Quy Nhon University and Quy Nhon Vocational Training College. Binh Dinh will continue to support the two Attapeu doctors to improve their professional knowledge in the fields of obstetrics and surgery at Binh Dinh General Hospital. Binh Dinh will send two experts of obstetrics and surgery to Attapeu for technical support as required.

The two provinces agreed to strengthen the publication of Binh Dinh image and people to Attapeu Province and vice versa, connecting and forming new tourist programs including diversified and plentiful tourist products so as to meet the requirements of tourists of both provinces in particular and two countries in general. The two provinces will also strengthen, consolidate and develop people-to-people activities through Vietnam – Laos Friendship Association to enhance ties of solidarity, peace and friendship between the two provinces.

* On the occasion of working at Attapeu Province, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung and his high-ranking delegation visited Duy Tan – Attapeu Company Limited, one of Binh Dinh enterprises in Attapeu Province. With an investment capital of more than 3 million USD and the capacity of 3,000 m2 of final wood products a month, Duy Tan – Attapeu Company Limited with its major business range of export wood veneer is one of the top companies to manufacture wood products in Attapeu. The company not only has a great contribution to the local budget but also creates stable jobs for more than 200 local workers.

Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung highly valued the dynamics of Binh Dinh enterprises for the wood processing items in Attapeu Province. The Chairman requested Binh Dinh enterprises in Laos should follow relevant regulations of Laos, creating the friendship relations with the local authority and the local people. The development of enterprises is the general hope of the two provincial high-ranking leaders.
