Press Meeting of “The 12th Meeting Vietnam” in 2016

At the press meeting, Mr. Le Cong Nhuong, Director of Science and Technology Department informed “the 12^th Meeting Vietnam” in 2016 in Binh Dinh Province. Accordingly, from June 26 till December 17, 2016 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Ghenh Rang Ward, Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province, “the 12^th Meeting Vietnam” including 12 international scientific conferences and 3 courses in physics is organized. “The 12^th Meeting Vietnam” attracts more than 1600 delegates, including 6 Nobel-laureates and many other well-known scientists in the world. The conference “Fundamental Science and Society” is the biggest one in the framework of “the 12^th Meeting Vietnam”, held on the 7^th and 8^th of July, 2016. The conference has the high patronage of UNESCO, co-organized by Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, People’s Committee of Binh Dinh Province and Rencontres du Vietnam, with the support of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), the International Solvay so as to celebrate the 50-year Rencontres de Moriond, founded by Prof. Tran Thanh Van in 1966. The conference attracts the participation of 6 Nobel-laureates, a Fields Medal, well-known scientists in the world, scientific managers, leaders of Vietnam Government, leaders of Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training, Directors of big economic corporations with their development based on science and technology. The conference aims at providing scientists opportunities to exchange and interact with policy-makers and representatives of private economic sectors in terms of the importance of fundamental science towards socio-economic development; the proposals related to fundamental science and society in Asia, especially in new-emerging economies around Vietnam in terms of specific themes of these countries. In the framework of the conference on “Fundamental Science and Society”, Rencontres du Vietnam presides over, co-operating with relevant departments, agencies and units to organize 4 talks with those interested in science in Quy Nhon City and in Ha Noi Capital.

Highly evaluating the role of news agencies in social life, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee hoped that local and central news agencies would spend amount of time informing the event of “the 12^th Meeting Vietnam” in 2016 timely. The Chairman believed the participation with full responsibility of news agencies and governing bodies would contribute to the construction of high-qualified scientific images of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), gradually develop ICISE into an ideal scientific rendezvous for national and international scientists.
