The Opening Ceremony of the International Scientific Conference “Mechanobiology: from molecules to tissue”

On the morning of June 27, 2016 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Rencontres du Vietnam in collaboration with Binh Dinh People’s Committee and Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology organized the international scientific conference “Mechanobiology: from molecules to tissue”. This is the first international conference in the framework of “the 12th Meeting Vietnam” in 2016. The conference will last until July 2^nd, 2016, focusing on the issue “mechanobiology”. The conference will cover the fundamentals, recent advances and emerging issues related to mechanobiology. Prof. Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of Rencontres du Vietnam, said it was a rare opportunity to promote the understanding of the force sensor in biology. This field actually refers to interdisciplinary approaches. Moreover, mechanobiology is being increasingly appreciated as being of primary importance in a plethora of biological processes, including development and cancer.

Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Tran Chau gave a welcome speech.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Tran Chau emphasized that beside the investment in socio-economic development, Binh Dinh also takes a lot of interest in science development and the evidence is the construction of the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE). For the past years, ICISE has organized a lot of international conferences, attracting many leading professors, scientists in the world, including Nobel – laureates and other honorable prizes. Binh Dinh is continuing to assist and create the most favorable conditions for ICISE to implement the second phase of the project and commits to co-operating with Rencontres du Vietnam to develop science in the coming time.

Mr. Tran Chau confirmed that the international scientific conferences in “The 12^th Meeting Vietnam” in 2016 also have purposes to consolidate and deepen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and countries in the world.
