Binh Dinh high-ranking delegation paid a working visit to Sekong: Strengthening the solidarity and friendship between Binh Dinh and Sekong

The meeting was attended by Mr. Khamphoi Butdavieng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Sekong People’s Committee, Mr. Phonphet khiulavong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Sekong People’s Committee and leaders of departments, agencies.

At the meeting, Mr. Khamphoi Butdavieng welcomed Binh Dinh high-ranking delegation to pay a working visit to Sekong. He expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, the State and people of Binh Dinh Province in the past years for enthusiastic support and assistance of Sekong Province with infrastructure building, human resource training, technical support, plant varieties, animal breeds to develop agriculture, forestry, healthcare, education, etc. He also hoped Binh Dinh would continue to support and assist Sekong in the coming time. Sekong leaders also invited Binh Dinh enterprises to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in Sekong Province.

Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung expressed his thanks to Sekong leaders for warm welcome; at the same time, gave a brief on the achievements of socio-economic development in the past years and the prospects of cooperation between the two provinces in the coming time. The Chairman also hoped that Sekong leaders would create favorable conditions and have appropriate business environment so that Binh Dinh enterprises would seek investment and cooperation opportunities in Sekong.

After the discussion, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung and Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Sekong People’s Committee Khamphoi Butdavieng agreed to sign the Memorandum of Cooperation period 2016-2021. Accordingly, Binh Dinh committed to assisting Sekong with high-quality plant varieties and animal breeds; technical training support and disease prevention for the cattle, the poultry and aquatic product; professional improvement for agricultural cadres and officials and the providing of practice guidelines in the field of agricultural production.

The two provinces also committed to create favorable conditions for enterprises to participate in trade fairs, annually held in each province. Sekong Province committed to creating favorable conditions for Binh Dinh enterprises to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in terms of opening commodity dealers, product showrooms of steel, plastic pipes and petroleum.

Binh Dinh will also assist Sekong to deal with human resource development. Binh Dinh annually offers full scholarships for 05 Sekong students to study at Quy Nhon University, offering full scholarships for 5 students with consecutive training from middle-ranking level to higher one and the training for a Sekong teacher to study at Quy Nhon Vocational Training College. Binh Dinh will receive 6 medical cadres and officials of Sekong Province to have their further education in such fields as ultrasound, endoscopy and nursing at Binh Dinh General Hospital. On investment and cooperation fields, Sekong committed to dealing with the procedures related to land use right certificates for Binh Dinh Province to invest in Sekong. Sekong will issue the mechanism and policies for labor and export of agriculture and forestry, the management and protection of rubber forest, etc., creating favorable conditions for Binh Dinh enterprises to do their business in Sekong.

* On the occasion of working in Sekong Province, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung visited the rubber forest of Binh Dinh Industry and Agriculture Business Joint Stock Company (BIDINA), Laos – Vietnam Friendship Rubber Co., Ltd (LVF), with a total investment capital of about 40 million USD. Presently, rubber trees are growing and developing well, preparing a good harvest of rubber glues, which contributes to the State budget as well as creates many job opportunities for local workers.
