Establishing Neutrino Group in Vietnam

Rencontres du Vietnam, NOMS group, Binh Dinh People’s Committee and Quy Nhon University signed a memorandum of understanding.

Attending the signing ceremony were Japanese professors include: Prof. Tsuyoshi Nakaya (Division of Physics and Astronomy, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University), Prof. Yuichi Oyama (Institute of Particle and Nuclear Studies, KEK), Prof. Makoto Miura (Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, Tokyo University) and Prof. Atsumu Suzuki (Kobe University).

At the ceremony, Rencontres du Vietnam and 4 Japanese professors working in Neutrino (hereinafter referred to as “NOMS group”) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Accordingly, NOMS group would advise the neutrino group of IFIRSE to work in international collaborations of neutrino experiments, helping IFIRSE in training human resource for the neutrino group of IFIRSE by coordinating with RDV to organize every year international conferences and workshops, short-term training courses in the field of neutrino physics; facilitating members of IFIRSE neutrino group during their stay in Japan for using computers, office and other facilities related the work of the group within collaborations established by NOMS group, etc.

The Neutrino Group in Vietnam includes: Prof. Makoto Miura, Prof. Yuichi Oyama, Prof. Atsumu Suzuki, Dr. Cao Van Son (High Energy Accelerator Research Organization - KEK, Japan), Dr. Le Phuoc Trung (postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tufts, the U.S.A). Prof. Tsuyoshi Nakaya (Head of the Neutrino Group), Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Van (Deputy Head of the Group).

After the launching ceremony of Neutrino Group in Vietnam at IFIRSE, Rencontres du Vietnam organized an international scientific conference on Neutrino, chaired by Prof. Francois Vannucci (working at the University of Paris 7, France). The conference attracted the participation of more than 80 professors, scientists from 20 countries in the world.

Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Ho Quoc Dung committed to making great efforts to develop the location into a destination or “a communal house” for scientists all over the world.
