Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee met with a delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB)

At the meeting, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee gave a brief on socio-economic development as well as potential, advantages of Binh Dinh Province. The Chairman emphasized the province defined “Coasts are potential for the provincial economic development” and hoped to receive ADB support and assistance to implement vital infrastructure projects with the aim of enhancing the infrastructure in Quy Nhon City and coastal routes for tourism development. The Chairman committed if assisted by ADB the province would strictly cooperate with related agencies to use ADB funding effectively.
At the meeting, Mr. Eric Sidgwick highly valued Binh Dinh had been active to effectively implement the project funded by ADB in the past years. For the proposed projects this time, ADB would take notes and consider later.
As known, from 2011 to 2016, ADB loaned Vietnam USD 6.1 billion and provided technical assistance with USD 33 million. The funding was focused on the transport, the water and urban areas, the management of public sectors. Besides, ADB also assisted Vietnam to develop the education, the agriculture and rural development. For Binh Dinh Province, ADB cooperated and implemented 11 projects with the total funding of more than USD 110 million.
