A Korean investor seeks for investment opportunities of a solar power project in Binh Dinh Province

On the morning of May 16, 2017, at the Office of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang had a meeting with Mr. Pak Chung Hoan – General Director of Gunin Vina Company and Mr. Kim Ji Yang – General Director of Vietnam BMB Company, belonging to KTR Group (Korea) to seek for investment opportunities of a solar power project in Binh Dinh Province (Photo).

At the meeting, the investors said that KTR Group specializes in solar and wind power projects in Korea. To seek for investment opportunities in Binh Dinh, the Group would like Binh Dinh leaders as well as leaders of related departments, agencies to create favorable conditions to survey and choose an appropriate location in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone or locations along the 639 provincial route, in Phu Cat, in Phu My for a renewable energy project. In addition, the investors would also like to be given necessary information in terms of foreign investment including: preferential policies, taxation and other related issues.

Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee Phan Cao Thang gave a brief on potential for renewable energy development in Binh Dinh. He also informed Binh Dinh and the Government of Vietnam’s policies encourage enterprises to invest in the construction of environmentally friendly power plants. Presently, there are 14 investors from Germany, the Netherlands, Japan, Spain, etc. to register their renewable power projects, of which there are 4 investors to register their projects in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone. Nhon Hoi Economic Zone has about 1,000 ha for wind and solar energy development. The province has 134km of coastline, so it has potential for renewable energy development. The Vice Chairman requested KTR to carefully survey and plan to invest the project. The province committed to creating favorable conditions for the investors to implement theirs projects in the province and would assist related investment formalities.
