Developing Binh Dinh to become a southern growing pole of the Central Key Economic Zone

On March 30, 2017, Binh Dinh Institute for Socio-Economic Development Studies organized a scientific workshop to study the theoretical and practical systems to build the locality to become a growing pole, belonging to the state science and technology topic: Researching scientific and actual basis to develop Binh Dinh to become the southern growing pole of the Central Key Economic Zone.

According to the plan of the Central Key Economic Zone, Binh Dinh will become the focus point and the center for trade, process of in the great Mekong region and the Asia-Pacific region. Binh Dinh is also the sea gate of countries in the Mekong region, especially Laos, Cambodia, and northern east provinces of Thailand.

The strategy to develop Binh Dinh to become the southern growing pole of the Central Key Economic Zone was formed on the basis of central urbans. Quy Nhon City plays an important role of central area, forming the southern development triangle of the province, including: Phu Phong – Nhon Ly, Cat Tien – Quy Nhon and An Nhon Town, connecting the northern growing center where the nucleus is Hoai Nhon District.

Besides, the two main objectives to successfully carry out the strategy are to develop the industry, developing Binh Dinh into logistics center of the region, developing Binh Dinh tourism to become a key economic sector, taking advantage of the present infrastructure to serve the industry as well as seaport, airport and transport systems, etc.

Many delegates at the conference said the strategy to develop Binh Dinh to become the southern growing pole of the Central Key Economic Zone should be based on the existing central and provincial urban and socio-economic planning, and Quy Nhon is the center city to create effects for other regions.
