The meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung – Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Chairman of the Advisory Council for Binh Dinh Development; Ms. Tran Thi Thu Ha, former Vice Chairwoman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, Secretary of the Advisory Council for Binh Dinh Development; Mr. Tran Chau, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee and leading representatives of relevant departments and agencies.
At the meeting, Mr. Hitoshi Kato and Binh Dinh leaders discussed and agreed on the documents written in Japanese language so as to advertise characteristic features of socio-economic situations, the cultural and historical vestiges and the potential for tourism and investment opportunities in Binh Dinh Province. Mr. Hitoshi Kato also agreed to help Binh Dinh sign the sister city agreement with Sakai City.
Also at the meeting, Binh Dinh leaders talked to leaders of Maruberi Corporation (Japan) about the construction progress of the Wood Processing Plant in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone.
Secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung emphasized the province would encourage and create the most favorable conditions for the Corporation to invest in Binh Dinh. It is expected the formalities for the investment certificate would be done the following week. The investor would implement the project in July, 2017 and put it into operation in December, 2017. In addition, the province would co-operate with the Japanese investor to implement the water clean system in Binh Dinh General Hospital after completing the project at Seagull Hotel.
Secretary of Binh Dinh Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung hoped after initial results that Kei’s enterprise (Japan) had deployed to plant safe vegetables in Vinh Son Commune, Vinh Thanh District, the Enterprise through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) would assist Binh Dinh to grow safe vegetables following the advanced technology, which was done in some provinces/cities in Vietnam. Especially, the province was very delighted when Mr. Hitoshi Kato had the idea of bringing Japanese cherry varieties to grow in Vinh Son. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung said Binh Dinh had grown 200 cherry trees, with Da Lat cherry varieties; therefore, the growing of the cherry trees helped Vinh Son create new tourism attractions to attract tourists to Binh Dinh – one of the key economic fields.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung also shared with Mr. Hitoshi Kato the project “Solar and Wind Power Plant”, funded by Fujiwara Group (Japan), invested in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone (with its investment capital of USD 63 million); the project “Constructing the Koi fish (Japanese carp) Center in Binh Dinh (with its capital investment of more than VND 13 billion. Binh Dinh leaders hoped Mr. Hitoshi Kato would support these above-mentioned projects.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Hitoshi Kato for the support and assistance and believed the cooperation between Binh Dinh and Japan – Vietnam Friendship Association in Sakai would be effective and further developed.
