Comrade Lam Hai Giang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended the announcement ceremony.

 According to Resolution No. 1257/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated October 24, 2024 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Binh Dinh province in the period of 2023 - 2025, Cat Khanh town was officially established from December 1, 2024 on the basis of the entire natural area of ​​30.74 km2 and population of 17,358 people of Cat Khanh commune. Cat Khanh town borders Cat Minh, Cat Tai, Cat Thanh communes (Phu Cat district), Phu My district and Bien Dong. After the establishment of the town, Phu Cat district has 18 commune-level administrative units, including 15 communes and 3 towns.

 Presenting the Resolution and congratulating the leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cat Khanh town, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang emphasized: In the coming time, the Party Committee and people of Cat Khanh town need to make efforts to develop Cat Khanh to its full potential as an urban center for tourism, marine economic services, a district-level specialized center for economy, culture, and traffic hub, playing a role in promoting the socio-economic development of the Northeast region of Phu Cat district, associated with the implementation of the Binh Dinh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Phu Cat District Construction Planning to 2040, with a vision to 2050, and the 1/5,000 scale Master Plan for the Southern Area of ​​De Gi Lagoon, Phu Cat District to 2035. Building and developing the town in the direction of a civilized and modern urban area, harmoniously combining economic development and protection  environment, preserving traditional cultural identity.

On the other hand, mobilizing maximum resources, exploiting the potentials and advantages of the locality, promoting investment attraction, accelerating growth, taking the marine economy as the foundation, focusing on developing industry, construction, trade, services and tourism, developing green agriculture, organic agriculture associated with developing raw material areas for processing, promoting the process of economic restructuring, sustainable poverty reduction, and increasing income for people.

The locality needs to strengthen the application of science and technology, digital transformation, increase the competitiveness of the economy, and carry out economic restructuring towards rapidly increasing the proportion of trade, services, industry, and construction.

Continue to innovate the content of management methods according to the needs of urban authorities, focusing on land management, natural resources and environment, construction order, urban embellishment, and completion of socio-economic infrastructure, etc.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang requested the People's Committee of Phu Cat district, relevant departments, branches, and sectors to focus on perfecting support mechanisms and policies, creating resources for Cat Khanh town to develop according to the plan. At the same time, he expressed his belief that the Party Committee, government, and people of the town will overcome initial difficulties, take advantage of opportunities, potentials, and advantages to build the town to increasingly develop, becoming a bright spot in socio-economic development of Phu Cat district in particular and Binh Dinh province in general.

 Chairman of Phu Cat District People's Committee Nguyen Van Hung accepted the instructions of the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and at the same time requested the agencies, departments and branches under the district to organize the implementation of the assigned contents and tasks according to the Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of Cat Khanh town. The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cat Khanh town have a specific plan to organize the implementation of tasks and work when establishing the town; ensure the political system operates stably, without interruption and well serves the living, production and business needs of the people and enterprises in the area.

On this occasion, the Standing Committee of Phu Cat District Party Committee announced and presented the Decision on changing the name of Cat Khanh Commune Party Committee to Cat Khanh Town Party Committee from December 1, 2024.
