(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of September 22, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan received and worked with representatives of Marubeni Lumber Group in Japan and Nhon Tan Holdings Joint Stock Company on supporting cooperation, promote the export of wood pellets.

At the meeting, Mr. Fumitaka Shimizu - General Director of Marubeni Lumber Group in Japan thanked Binh Dinh province for its attention and creating conditions for businesses in the local investment process.

Currently, the Factory Project for the production of wooden furniture products and wood essential oils of Marubeni Lumber Vietnam Co., Ltd. (a 100% Japanese-owned enterprise) in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone is operating effectively, creating produces many high-quality interior wood products, wood essential oils, serving supporting industries and manufacturing and processing industries.

Appreciating Binh Dinh's strengths, Mr. Fumitaka Shimizu said he will continue to expand investment in Binh Dinh and act as a bridge to attract Japanese businesses to invest in the province. At the same time, Mr. Fumitaka Shimizu wishes to continue to receive support from the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments and branches so that businesses can invest effectively in the province in the coming time.

Mr. Le Hoai Ngoc - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nhon Tan Holdings Joint Stock Company said that, within the framework of the visit and working visit of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province with the Osaka City Government (Japan) in June 2023, the Company has Connect with Marubeni Lumber Company about buying and selling wood pellet products. To facilitate long-term cooperation in the coming time, Marubeni Lumber Company and Nhon Tan Holdings Joint Stock Company hope that the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and other agencies and branches will pay attention, help and support preferential policies such as: commercial procedures, customs clearance for exporting wood pellets to the Japanese market; At the same time, create conditions for the development of local raw material areas.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan introduced the strengths and development opportunities when businesses invest in Binh Dinh province, including the field of export wood processing. Binh Dinh is currently one of the leading export woodworking processing centers in the country with an average annual export turnover of nearly 1 billion USD, accounting for over 60% of the province's export turnover. As for outdoor furniture, Binh Dinh ranks first in the country. Regarding the wood pellet production industry, currently in the province there are 32 wood pellet factories (of 31 enterprises with 100% Vietnamese capital and 01 enterprise with 100% foreign capital) with a total capacity of 2. 3 million tons/year. Besides the wood processing industry, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan also suggested some fields that Maruberni Lumber Group could cooperate with Binh Dinh province such as seaports - logistics.
