Enterprises enter the season of making Tet goods

More than 2 months until the Lunar New Year 2025, so many enterprises and production facilities in the province are entering the year-end production season to serve the upcoming Tet market.

The Lunar New Year 2025 is only one month after the New Year, so many enterprises and production facilities have started preparing Tet goods from the end of October and the beginning of November 2024. This year, due to the difficult economic situation, purchasing power is forecasted to not increase compared to the same period last year, while input material prices have increased, so many enterprises and production facilities plan to maintain the output of Tet goods equivalent to the previous year.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thinh, Director of Quy Nhon Mineral Water Joint Stock Company, said: Up to now, the company has completed 94% of the 2024 production plan; the whole year is estimated to reach 102.5% of the plan. Specifically, the production output in 2024 is 15 million liters of mineral water and 12.5 million liters of various soft drinks. In 2024, the economic situation is difficult, consumers tighten spending, so the purchasing power of this item decreases. The company has applied a number of solutions to overcome the difficult period such as: Saving production costs, expanding the market, flexible sales policies... to create continuous jobs, ensuring stable income for 250 workers.

According to many enterprises and production facilities, the increase in raw material prices during the Tet season has significantly affected the production and supply plans of many facilities.  The beer industry is no exception, as reported by the Department of Industry and Trade, bottled beer output decreased by 3.17%.

In the first 9 months of the year, Saigon - Central Beer Joint Stock Company, Quy Nhon branch, consumed 46.575 million liters of beer, reaching 87.88% of the plan set by the Board of Directors, reaching 98.43% compared to the same period in 2023. Accumulating the last 3 months of the year, the estimated consumption output was 56 million liters, reaching 100% of the plan, but revenue was only over 373 billion VND, reaching 97.06% of the plan.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Director of Saigon - Central Beer Joint Stock Company Branch in Quy Nhon, said: To achieve the expected results in 2024 as above, the company has been determined in implementing solutions to reduce norms such as: Adjusting production processes, recovering and reusing waste sources, testing new solutions.

Consumer trends have changed a lot, as more and more consumers order products on online channels and e-commerce platforms, so businesses and establishments must diversify distribution and marketing channels, promote and sell goods on e-commerce channels to expand the market during the upcoming Tet holiday.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh, Director of IPP Sachi Joint Stock Company (Hoai Nhon Town), said: The output of the 2025 At Ty Tet crop is expected to increase by 20% compared to last year, the company has reserved over 100 tons of raw materials. We also promote distribution through large supermarket chains such as Winmart, Co.opmart, Lotte, e-commerce platforms, aiming for a 30% increase in revenue during the 2025 Tet holiday. Thanks to a strong distribution system at more than 200 retail points, along with products certified by ISO 22000 and HACCP, the company is confident in serving customers best during the Tet holiday.

To meet market demand, businesses and production facilities have developed product lines specifically for the Tet holiday. Typically, IPP Sachi Joint Stock Company has designed more than 10 diverse gift packaging models, targeting families and business customers during the Tet holiday.  Enterprises and establishments with OCOP certified products such as: Thanh Nien Hoai An Agricultural Cooperative, DULAH Company Limited, SPEVI FOOD Company Limited, An Phu Quy Coffee Company Limited... combine with other OCOP products of partners to diversify product lines for Tet, attract consumers...

With confectionery products, production establishments in the province still mainly produce according to orders, or wait until the end of December to increase production compared to normal days. Because according to some owners, these are products with short shelf life, narrow supply range, and have to compete with many new products in other provinces and cities, so they do not dare to risk increasing the quantity of goods. In addition, confectionery agents do not stock up like previous years, but have the mentality of waiting for customer demand to increase before importing to sell.
