Warm Mid-Autumn Festival Sharing
Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival of reunion, an occasion for children to gather, enjoy and have fun. However, in the face of the loss of people in the Northern provinces due to storms and floods, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival is somewhat simpler but still warm and meaningful.
Warm Mid-Autumn Festival
Blind and disabled children are given priority for early gift giving. Since September 10, the Provincial Blind Association has coordinated with the Tuy Duyen Quy Nhon Charity Group to give 30 gifts to blind and disabled children.
Arriving early and waiting for his turn to receive the gifts, Do Quoc Kiet (born in 2009, in Vinh Hoa commune, Vinh Thanh district) is excited with early joy. Kiet is a disabled child, his father is the main breadwinner but unfortunately passed away. Although Kiet's mother tried to do all kinds of jobs to support the two brothers, life was still difficult...
"On International Children's Day, the Provincial Blind Association called on benefactors to donate bicycles and support 800,000 VND/month, helping to reduce the financial burden on my family. On Mid-Autumn Festival, I continued to receive gifts. Although unfortunately disabled, I feel very happy because I am loved and helped," Kiet said.

Along with the gifts, the warm atmosphere of Mid-Autumn Festival is also reflected in the care of the units for children, especially the less fortunate ones. On the afternoon of September 14, at Hoai Chau Secondary School (Hoai Chau Commune, Hoai Nhon Town), the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Pioneer Council coordinated with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival; presented 100 gifts to children with disabilities, orphans, and those in especially difficult circumstances; and organized a number of fun activities such as lantern processions, breaking cakes, etc.
Unable to hide his emotions when receiving the gifts, Phan Duy Thong (class 5A3, Hoai Chau Primary School) confided: “My family is a near-poor household, my mother has a mental illness and passed away in a traffic accident a month ago. Mid-Autumn Festival is a festival of family reunion, but from this year, I am no longer so lucky. I did not plan to go out like every year, but my teachers and friends at school revealed that “the program will have many surprises”. It was true, I had a great time and also received gifts. If my mother knew about this, she would be very happy”, Thong confided.
The meaning of Mid-Autumn Festival is also sent to the grandparents who work hard to raise disadvantaged grandchildren due to the absence of their fathers and mothers. Happily holding her 5-year-old grandson Vo Tri Kien's hand to receive gifts at the Full Moon Festival organized by the People's Committee of Quy Nhon City in Nhon Ly Commune (Quy Nhon City) on the evening of September 13, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Dung (65 years old, in Nhon Ly Commune; Kien's grandmother) expressed: "My child has been without a mother since he was 4 months old, and his father often works far away, so I take care of and raise him alone. I feel sorry for my young and deprived grandchild, so I try to work hard to hope that he will have a better life. Fortunately, there are still many units and organizations that care about him. He recently received a gift on the opening day of school, now a Mid-Autumn Festival gift...".
Love and share
To make the Mid-Autumn Festival in the memory of every child always bustling with bright sounds, every year, departments, branches and sectors join hands to create a meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival. The Full Moon Festival program organized by the Provincial Youth Union, the Provincial Young Pioneer Council in coordination with the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs is one of such activities. Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Nguyet, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of the Provincial Young Pioneer Council, said: "To make the Mid-Autumn Festival truly a memorable occasion in the memories of children, we have built the program based on the wishes and interests of the children; flexibly include activities during the festival so that every child has gifts, joy and beautiful memories left behind".
From 2 pm, 500 children in Hoai Chau commune "joined in" bustling folk games and cultural exchanges right in the school yard. Each traditional game such as tug of war, sack race relay or newer games such as balance ball passing... were all enthusiastically and wholeheartedly played by the children. The cheers and encouragement made the whole school yard light up with the joy of children...
Meanwhile, at Hoai Chau Secondary School (Hoai Chau Commune, Hoai Nhon Town), student representatives from 4 grades focused on trimming, arranging and displaying the Mid-Autumn Festival trays. Choosing the idea of "Mid-Autumn Festival towards the North", the 9th grade group shaped watermelons and mangoes into large boats, combined with cardboard depicting relief trips to flood victims, filled with all kinds of candy that all children love.
Student Trinh Nguyen Thuy Tram (class 9A1) shared: "If we have a warm Mid-Autumn Festival, in the North, there are many friends of the same age who are not as lucky. The whole group hopes that they will soon stabilize and safely overcome difficulties".

In addition to traditional lantern parade and feast-breaking programs, with the desire to bring new and interesting experiences to disadvantaged groups such as children with disabilities and developmental delays; some units have come up with the idea of organizing a more special Mid-Autumn Festival than every year.
Some activities include: The Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Protection of Children's Rights of the province in coordination with Starlight Quy Nhon Cinema organized a free movie screening for students of Quy Nhon Hope Special School on the afternoon of September 12; An Nhon Town Women's Union visited the homes of 80 orphans in the area to give gifts; The Provincial Association for the Support of Poor Patients presented gifts to sick children in some hospitals, health centers, etc.
Along with departments, branches, and philanthropists in many localities, they also joined hands to organize the Mid-Autumn Festival for children. This year, to show the spirit of sharing the loss with the people of the North, Vinh Hy village (Phuoc Loc commune, Tuy Phuoc district) did not organize camping and big games like every year, but the People's Committee of the village still organized a Mid-Autumn Festival night to give gifts and awards to children in difficult circumstances and excellent and excellent students and new students.
Mr. Tran Vu Bao, Head of the village, said: "We will organize the Mid-Autumn Festival night on the evening of September 17 with performances, lion dances and gifts for more than 100 children. Students will receive notebooks, candy, and students will receive scholarships. The total value of the gifts is about 30 million VND, contributed by people near and far."
