The Sixth International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts – Binh Dinh 2016: The exchange of martial arts at Phi Long Vinh Martial Arts School (Tuy Phuoc District)

On the morning of August 3rd, 2016 in the framework of the Sixth International Festival of Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts – Binh Dinh 2016, the exchange of martial arts between Phi Long Vinh Martial Arts School and national and international martial arts schools was organized at Ngoc Son Monastery (Phuoc Son Commune, Tuy Phuoc District)

Martial arts schools at the exchange include: Binh Dinh Sa Long Cuong - Italy, Tinh Vo Dao - Morocco, Minh Long Vo Dao – Morocco and Portugal, Noi Gia Vo Dao – Ha Noi, Thieu Lam Phi Long Sect – Binh Thuan, Binh Dinh Martial Arts Training Center for the homeless and disadvantaged in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Vo Dao Tay Son Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Gia Lai, Binh Dinh College and Binh Thai Dao Binh Dinh.

All martial arts schools at the exchange would like to show their special demonstrations with quintessence of Binh Dinh traditional martial arts. Though many martial arts schools chose to perform “Lão hỗ thượng sơn”, each performance showed his particular characteristics. Competitions with weapons and without weapons have been well-prepared and attracted a large number of audiences. The performances of young athletes, including Ho Thanh Cong (Binh Thuan Delegation) with “Chấp thủ” and “Huyền đô”, Tram Anh (Binh Dinh Sa Long Cuong Delegation - Italy) with “Thần đồng”, etc. were the most remarkable ones.

 The host - Phi Long Vinh Martial Arts School also showed excellent performances with “Hùng kê quyền”, “Ngọc trản quyền”, “Roi Thái sơn”, etc.

The speciality of the exchange was the performances of special athletes from Binh Dinh Martial Arts Training Center for the homeless and disadvantaged in Ho Chi Minh City. Disabled athletes have tried their best to successfully perform “Đoản đao”, “Độc mác phi long”, “Thuyết kiếm”, “Đoản phủ”, etc. Their performances were supported with claps made by audiences.

The exchange ended with photographs together and the hope to meet one another the next festival.
