Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan received the European Union Delegation to Vietnam

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of December 3, at the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan received the delegation led by Ms. Kristina Bünde - Head of the Cooperation Department, Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, who visited and worked in the province. Talking with the Head of the Cooperation Department, Delegation of the European Union to Vietnam, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that Binh Dinh is a province with many potentials and advantages for socio-economic development.  Binh Dinh has a basically complete and synchronous transportation system, conveniently connecting localities in the province, regions and areas in the country, with full means of transportation, including roads, railways, airways and sea routes.

Quy Nhon International Seaport is a large seaport in Vietnam, with the advantage of a sheltered anchorage area, able to safely receive cargo ships of up to 70,000 tons. Phu Cat Airport has flights to and from major provinces and cities in Vietnam and is preparing to upgrade to an international airport. Binh Dinh is investing, upgrading and completing socio-economic infrastructure to be ready to welcome investors, especially infrastructure of economic zones and industrial parks with a total area of ​​16,000 hectares and infrastructure of industrial clusters with an area of ​​about 3,000 hectares.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan said that the EU in particular and Europe in general are very familiar markets for businesses in Binh Dinh province.  Over the past years, the trade and investment cooperation relationship between Binh Dinh province and the European business community has been increasingly promoted and expanded. However, the results of attracting investment and developing trade between the two sides are still quite modest, not commensurate with the potential and advantages of each side. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan hopes that Ms. Kristina Bünde will be interested in acting as a bridge to introduce businesses from potential EU member countries to Binh Dinh province to survey and seek investment and business opportunities; at the same time, coordinate with Binh Dinh province to organize investment, trade and tourism promotion conferences at appropriate times to promote, call for investment attraction, and expand cooperation between the province and businesses from the EU in particular and Europe in general. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Anh Tuan emphasized the province's interest in protecting the environment and developing renewable energy, treating wastewater and urban waste, as well as minimizing carbon emissions;  At the same time, call for support from countries and international organizations to realize the province's sustainable development goals.

Chairman Pham Anh Tuan also requested the Cooperation Board of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam to pay attention to supporting Binh Dinh province in particular and Vietnam in general in its efforts to remove the yellow card of the European Commission (EC) for Vietnam's seafood industry; support the province's export enterprises in implementing new regulations of the European Union (EU), such as the EUDR (Deforestation Prevention Regulation), which will take effect in 2025; strengthen cooperation in education and technology... with EU and European member countries.

Head of the Cooperation Board of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam, Ms. Kristina Bünde, highly appreciated the potential and potential of the province in socio-economic development and oriented economic development in conjunction with environmental protection, towards sustainable development.

Ms. Kristina Bünde emphasized that the Cooperation Board of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam will strengthen cooperation and expand investment opportunities in Binh Dinh, especially in the field of clean energy.  The Head of the Cooperation Department of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam promised to be a bridge to help develop friendly relations and cooperation between partners in EU countries and Binh Dinh province in many fields; strive to find suitable funding sources to support the province in implementing projects related to environmental protection and renewable energy development. In addition, Ms. Kristina Bünde also suggested that the province continue to build an open investment environment with attractive support policies to attract more international businesses to explore investment opportunities in the province.
