40 addresses of researchers at the International Conference “Binh Dinh Ancient Ceramics – Vijaya Kingdom and Its Relationship with Thang Long Citadel – Dai Viet" (11th -15th Centuries)

The conference was attended by Asso. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, Alternate Member of Central Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Academy of Social Studies, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee, researchers and domestic and foreign delegates.

It was the first time the international conference on Champa ancient ceramics had been organized in Binh Dinh, Vietnam, where there are ancient pottery-kilns and famous Champa heritage system. That was an opportunity to review and evaluate the research achievements on Champa ancient ceramics in Binh Dinh Province and the issues related to the history, economic and cultural exchanges between Vijaya Kingdom and Southeast Asia and Asia.

The Organizing Committee of the conference had received 40 addresses from Institute of Archeology, Institute of Imperial Citadel Studies, Southern Region Academy of Social Studies, etc. and researchers from France, America, Japan, China, Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Philippines and Brunei.

After the conference, researchers would have many more new documents related to Binh Dinh ancient ceramics as well as the basis to better understanding about Binh Dinh ancient ceramics, especially the characters, ages, owners; the roles, functions and social features of Binh Dinh ancient ceramics not only for Champa or Dai Viet but also for the communities in Southeast Asia and Asia.
