Sekong High-ranking delegation, the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos met with leaders of Binh Dinh Province

At the meeting, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of Binh Dinh People’s Committee gave a brief on the provincial socio-economic situation in the past years as well as the potential, advantages for the development. The Chairman said that within 9 months of the year 2017 although the province faced many difficulties, the provincial economy still developed. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in 9 months increased by 7.3% compared with the same time of the previous year and foreign affairs activities has achieved positive results. In terms of the cooperation program between Binh Dinh and Sekong, in the past years the two provinces enhanced diplomatic activities and signed the memorandum of understanding on the occasion of leaders of the two provinces met each other. The cooperation program has actual activities with the aim of enhancing the friendship and cooperation and helping each other to develop together. The Chairman also requested the high-ranking leaders of the two provinces would actively cooperate and exchange information so as to continue enhancing the friendship relation between the two provinces, especially the interest in dealing with difficulties and creating favorable conditions for the trade and the exchange of commodities between Binh Dinh and Sekong.

Mr. Phonphet Khiulavong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Sekong People’s Council expressed his thanks to Binh Dinh leaders for a warm welcome and also gave a brief on Sekong socio-economic situation. The Sekong Deputy Secretary hoped the special relation between Vietnam and Laos in general and Binh Dinh and Sekong in particular would be further developed. He also hoped that in the coming time Binh Dinh Province would continue to create favorable conditions and assist Sekong Province in training high-quality human resources; assisting plant varieties, domestic animals, transferring technique and technology, etc.

After the meeting, the delegation of Sekong Province visited the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), Nhon Hoi Economic Zone and FLC Quy Nhon with the aim of bettering understanding the socio-economic situation of Binh Dinh Province and enhancing the cooperation between the two provinces.
