The Opening Session of the Summer School on Computational Biology for Infectious Diseases (CBID 2017)

On the morning of September 18, 2017 at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), the Opening Session of the Summer School on Computational Biology for Infectious Diseases was organized, with the participation of 115 scientists, professionals working on infectious diseases, students and young post-graduate students from 25 countries in the world.

At the opening session, Prof. Tran Thanh Van – President of Rencontres du Vietnam said the Summer School on Computational Biology for Infectious Diseases lasts until September 24, 2017, wishing to acquire knowledge and practice in quantitative analyses, working in modeling sciences (mathematics, informatics) and wishing to acquire knowledge in health sciences applications. The summer school is organized in 4 parallel thematic groups of 15-20 students covering the following topics: Molecular phylogenetics; Metaenomics; Transmission dynamics and Epidemics forecasting.

As known, the Summer School on Computational Biology for Infectious Diseases was sponsored by World Health Organization (WHO), Institute for the National Health Research, the U.S.A, Rencontres du Vietnam, the French Embassy in Vietnam, the French Institute for Research and Development, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the U.S.A, etc. The scientific event is in the framework of “The 13th Rencontres du Vietnam” in 2017, held by Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology, Binh Dinh People’s Committee and Rencontres du Vietnam.
